Mystery. If people knew how bad they really sounded in a venue, nobody would go see them. unless you get a line out feed to an MD, you're just not going to have a really good recording and the dj will not sound his best. Period. I don't know about you, but I don't want to sound bad.

A heckofa lot of oit has to do with advance tracks.  Here's the chain of events: someone plays a pre-release track that is included in a recorded set,  set is posted online,  someone hears banging new track and has to play it,  person realizes track isn't available,  person rips track from live set,  person plays track in recorded set,  and the cycle starts over again.

Thusly,  the track has already been distributed before the label had a chance to make a buck.  Bad,  bad juju.

I say buy some XM radio air-time. I spoke to someone who has a show on Family Talk 170 and they are paying 5 Grand a month for 2 hours X 5 days a week. Maybe you can present the show to Salem.

Salem would never go for it...they're way too conservative...they shut down a mixshow that we did on a CCM station in San Francisco...

yeah... Salem is not very open-minded. although... here in Atlanta, for some reason.. they occasionally play secular music on their station. I find that VERY odd.

i'm sorry this is happening

honestly, i've never helped though, i don't think i've ever tuned in to the show, maybe once or so but i really do not recall

the way it is for me, even though i'm in front of a computer constantly due to work, i rarely listen to streaming stations, when i do it's sporadic and not planned so there's no way i'd be on regularly to listen to a show

what i do do often, is download mixes and put them on the ipod/other devices/etc...

if the mixes happen to show up in a place i frequent, and they're styles i dig, then i end up getting them, otherwise i don't

Nate just gave you the solid argument for a podcast.

Honestly I would miss "The Show" - but I only download the show podcast as mentioned in another post when Itunes automatically looks for the latest one.  I don't listen to OLR but I do listen to the podcasts regularly.  I put it on my IPod and listen to it in my car.

AS I mentioned, I have been considering the podcast thing. The Show and Blend will continue as a podcast. However I am still leaning to keepin OLR alive. I am thinking what I will do is do regional programming for each corner of the world. AKA, Here in the states, we will keep our programming the same time. In the UK, I will bring on some people there to do programming for thier time zone, etc....
When there is no live programming, the station would be off the air.

I will probably run the website strictly as a hub for podcasts.

as mentioned in my previous post, we are gonna change the primary focus of the station. All should be ready for Cornerstone.
