Chris and Jason-
A great show might be live at Cstone recorded on md.  I will be more than willing to lend you my minidisc player for recording the generator stage with your commentary on the mic/interviews after the sets of the Artists/DJ's.  What do you think?  I will have to be at the Gospel for Asia booth during the generator stage hours most likely but can pop in now and again for a chat and say hey to everyone.  I have been recording the stage for the past two years and providing the video and audio, hopefully we can do it again this year as OLR's Cstone EXRAVAGANZA!!  Then you can play it on OLR as recorded live either streamed or podcasted either way you like Smiley

great idea. in my experience, a lot of the big name dj's don't want thier sets recorded or if they agree, they dont want them broadcast and/or available for download. This could be because they have promo's that can't leak out just yet, or agreements with thier labels, or just because they don't want it available.

I'd love to do this.

I will be bringing my laptop and minidisc recorder, plus jason will have his laptop, so I think we are covered for recording. Thanks for the offer.

maybe if you can't record the sets maybe do some interviews while you're there?

I think some interesting interviews would be with artists but also with some cornerstone veterens, newbies, and newcomers to the dance barns' first impressions...  maybe just a "OneLifeRadio Covering Cornerstone" show

Getting some music in from Cornerstone would be great but if you can't do tha tmaybe just some coverage for the people who won't be there or for those of us who will be there to listen to when we get home and be like, "I remember that!"   Grin

It depends... some of the DJs performing Cstone have clauses in their contracts that will prevent the recording or video taping of their sets. Most of the ones with laptops have special proprietary setups that they don't want leaked out and those who place CDs/records don't want people to know all of their tricks including exclusive tracks.

Coordinate this with Jeremy and Kevin. If they say no... the answer is no.

Still given Cstone's history of approved and encouraged bootlegging... the way we're protesting this is very odd. Smiley

yea I object to any recordings because I don't want anyone to know that I use an echo indigo dj, m-audio trigger finger, and behringer bcr2000 with an ableton live set and mostly all built-in plugins and stuff that is found on abletonlivedj.com...

woops now that I let that information slip... I guess you can record my set if you want... ;-)

just kiddin, I'm sure guys like 3kstatic and such have some pretty interesting setups that a lot of people (including myself) would love to see in use...

I just find it funny that you can't really find a large number of "how to set up a live pa in ableton" articles out there. There are some posts on message boards. There are some posts about preparing samples. But nobody seems to have written one talking about how to integrate your gear and build the template.

Very odd if you ask me.

I mean... you can find several on DJ templates. Come on!

yeah well 6 months ago there were none on dj templates lol

But with Live PA it seems a lot more likely to be "depends on how you want it setup" answers...

I listen about once a week. But like clank and ru being form uk would lsiten more at uk times. Not that i would expect u to move everything to our time but form a global perspective saw poential for this to develop in the future.

As far as podcast goes how about each dj/show doing the their show as a podcast but under the onelife radio banner? The website could hold all the feed links for each dj and show and each podcast would be linked by onelife radio.

I would be very interested in doing this, As you know i wanted to get more involved with onelife radio but had to be realistic about how much i could commit. I currently have my own podcast and would be interested in doing it under the onelife banner.

There are more and more podcasts being made all the time and would be good to start doing something collaboratively rather than individually. Of course thats what u guys have already been doing!

I realise you said until cornerstone, but please dont shutdown al together!

listeners. money isn't really a problem. we have no overheard and only pay for shoutcast hosting at this point.

ok im just gonna throw this out there and you may not agree but this is the way i look at most things that i do. Even if only one person is listening, if you making an affect on that person then i would consider the station a sucess. Thats just the way i look at things i do in life. Now if the problem was funding then obviously the stiuation would be different. Anyway i have been promoting the station a bit in the past few days for you and will keep doing so Cool

good luck with everything  Smiley

As far as the main stage goes,  the only ones who can't be recorded are Stryke and Kenneth.  I don't think everyone else would have a problem with it.  The only BTU clauses are we control the rights to our audio recordings (which I'm giving OLR permission to use),  and no videotaping of us from behind while playing and no close up photography of our setups.

And if listeners is your problem,  then that can be solved!  I'll email ya more info.  Let's make this thing work!

Tongue With all due respect, whats the big deal about some DJ's not wanting thier sets recorded? Aside from all the bla bla, if it can be recorded then why not, I mean exposure is exposure, no one is as big as Paul Van Dyke, or Tiesto...yet. So in the meantime why not just do it or this can be done. Record the sets as a doube disc and sell it or just one with all the different DJ's and stuff like a promo and it can help with financing stuff for next years C Stone. But I respct those who do not want to be recorded for w/e reason thats ok. Goodluk to all who play at the Barn.  Cool
