I was just curious as to what people on here were using more of. As each day passes i know that the days of vinyl are dwendeling...it is a heart breaking reality.   SO! Im trying to see if we have more Vinyl, CD, or Laptop DJs in here. If you havent figured this out by now I use---- VINYL!

desktop pc Wink I need a laptop.

BTW, I heard on the radio that CD sales (in general) dropped 20% last year. I can't imagine vinyl holding on too much longer.

sometimes, i put my laptop on top of my turntables, because i don't have a decent stand. But that's as close as i've come to touching vinyl in the past year or so.

90% CD, 5% Vinyl, 5% Laptop. I would use my laptop more for DJ'ing, but it's not really designed for that. The audio has a slight skip when I am just listening. It get's worse when I use traktor. This machine makes it very obvious it doesn't want to be used for DJ'ing.   Sad

I have lots of vinyl, and can play Cd's, but I think my choice is Serato with the vinyl controller.  I guess I do a little of everything right now.  I still like the feel of the turntable, and the newer Serato system has all the hot keys for cue points, plus you can scroll through your tracks in the lock groove and not touch your mouse Smiley

Vinyl for when I haven't had the time to burn those trax to CD, but these days it's mostly CD. I was talking with a dj yesterday about what he uses and he says he gets rude comments from the punters if he uses a laptop as people think 'he is cheating'. He says people can see what you're doing with CDs. I have had similar comments whilst using CDJs so who knows? its going to take a while for people to come around to modern technology.
