WWW
« on: February 22, 2007, 05:07:39 PM »

hey guys n gals

i'm rarely on here anymore, but i know this is the place to ask this sort of thing

a friend from ravelinks.com is working with her church to throw a "church rave", or "crave" as they're calling it

she faced opposition when she brought it up on ravelinks, which is why i'm asking here....if anyone's curious, here's her thread on ravelinks: (if curse words and rude people scare you, don't click the link please, people were very mean to her...meanies...)
http://www.ravelinks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35618

many of you know how i feel about "christian raves"....hehe, so aside from that...i'm just trying to help her

she's going to be needing some djs, she's in the so cali area

this is probably not the right forum to ask, but i'm not certain which one to put this in

is anyone even slightly interested? also, where should i have her ask about this, which forum?

thank you!

may the lord bless you all phattly!!

I'm on it and perhaps it will be a good opportunity for me to visit California.

I responded with quite a bit more than I was expecting and look forward to some good, old fashioned, predictable bashing towards me from the unsaved world.  Cool

I am very familiar with this church. I've been there several times. They area very hip church.
Its on the campus of Cal Baptist University in Riverside.
I am not sure what kind of turnout they will have. We all no the turnout of "Christian Raves"
Gauging from the post on Ravelinks it appears they have a dj.

I wish that I live in So-Cal, because I would so be there, as it was at a Christian Rave that got me back on the right path.

But alas I live in the arctics of Michigan and have no way to get there.

I wll be praying for the event tho.

Andy Hunter??

Yes, andy hunter  Grin They dont think he will be coming anymore as it will be too pricey to fly him out here, but he got some of our church's worship songs and mixed them into electronica for us and has provided us with a ton of his music. Ive never heard his stuff before though. Is he a popular DJ in the christian music scene? What genre does he spin?

When did you come to our church? If you enjoyed it and you live close by, you should stop by some time in the next couple weeks. There is an awesome sermon series on prayer right now. No worries if Sandals isnt your taste though  Wink

That's too bad. He is definitely worth the money and is a BIG NAME in Christian Electronica. He spins mostly trance/breaks. If you need a dj still or an added one hit me up.
Its been a while since I have been to Sandals. I enjoyed the worship and teaching. The pastor there is very straight forward.
I'll have to check the podcast and who knows I may drop by. I went and saw John Reuben at Day7 at Harvest on Sun night.
Blessings!

Andy Hunter is a MAJOR name in Christian Dance Music and a good guy.  If you need a DJ, I would love to spin for you as well.

*sigh*

i haven't heard from the girl involved and doing this in a long time

i was leery of posting about it here in the first place, it sounded like she really was going to do something with it, but, well, people are people, and ravers are usually more of procrastinators than regular people

well, sorry guys and gals =\
