Due to my current laptop problems, there will be no "The Show!" this week. Q and I recorded last night, had DJ Ru's interview and had a FUN SHOW! I saved all the files to my laptop. I got to work and booted my laptop to edit the show together and it was dead. All the files to put this show together are on the laptop. Unless I can recover the files some how, This show will never be heard.

Kinda funny, cause this was show numer 13! LOL SPOOKY!

on my dell, the harddrive is in a sort of caddy that you just unscrew one screw and it comes right out... if that's the case you could pull it out and then get a laptop hdd enclosure from either best buy or compusa or ay computer store...  and you can read it using usb...

Chris, you could do it that way, but seriously... all you need is to have the data transfered or the HD moved to a new system. You don't NEED an external drive enclosure to get that data back as long as the HD itself is good.

yeah that would work perfectly... that's what I put my old laptop drive in.. now I'm gonna image it with a basic windows install with traktor and ableton live installed on it... then if I'm out djing and my main laptop hard drive crashes I can just pop this one in and be ready to go...

Actually, the enclosure did not fit mine. It was the same size and the pins would have lined up, BUT my hard drive had an extra plate across the top that made it not fit.

So, HOW do I go about transferring the data from a dead machine?
