I am definitely gonna be there. Is there anyway that we can support this financially Dave?
I'll be praying for this.
Send Kneesh to California for a dj bootcamp....I'l get her mixing in no time! C'mon Kneesh we need more estrogen based dj's!

It's not exactly that kind of thing Pat. Even if it were, we'd need at least $7k to do the show at the minimum and that's REALLY pushing it for the talent we want to bring in. In fact, one of the most requested acts for the Dance Club could blow MOST of that just with his booking fees.

my initial guy reaction is: don't do it. most of the big names of that size aren't worth it,imo. it's just the truth: it's a rock festival. those kids aren't savvy to who's who in dance music. they just want to jump around & have a good time in the barn to cool music.

I agree... as awesome as it would be to have someone like andy hunter or someone huge there, I also would really like to see some guys like the BTU crew and some other tastyfresh djs that wouldn't have an opportunity to play at a large festival without tastyfresh doing the booking...
on that note I am gonna be working on completing a demo myself to submit

Don't worry, we've already knocked the expensive ppl out of the running. Here's the thing though... EVERYONE we've approached so far actually WANTS to play cstone. Seriously... the barn is WELL KNOWN among the secular biggies.

I would argue that this is a VERY good reason to drop mad money on say Uberzone. Give the vids I've seen, his live sets would really interest MOST of the people who aren't savvy in EDM. The more "band-like" the show is, the more of a draw it will become. Remember... these ppl don't "get" djs who don't scratch.

i agree about the 'band-like' aspects. what i meant was the name "hemstock & jennings",for instance, means a whole lot more to us than any given kid at c-stone.

nope, but honestly... most of those new rock bands that are there mean nothing to most of the old folk either

Yo,
My wife Heather and I would like to host a party like we did last year. We had a small PA, open CD decks and we fed home made chili to more than 60 fun people. Would any one care to help us with the party? It was one of the best parts of last year for me! It could be used to promote the Dance Club as well as fellowship.
