Never been a fan of Hillsong. I "kinda" liked "Shout to the Lord", but then again, I had to do it when I was leading worship. Their sound just annoys me.

<---  OOOOOOOO   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Look who has an unpopular opinion about a cherished staple in the Christian Worship Music industry.

heheh..that's funny, bro. i was gonna say i'm shocked so many ppl on this board are excited about this release.

i don't have anything against hillsong & i love shout to the lord,but ya know...they're soooooo 90's ;P

Although im interested  abit in the remixes. When i said id be interested if they did dance I meant id like to see churches like that pioneer new styles of worship.

Like you say sooo 90s

"Fire fall down" imaginative lyrics... Wink

"Fire fall down, Fire fall down, On us we pray" (repeat ad infinitum)

"Show me your heart, show me your way, show me your glory" (repeat a little less then ad infinitum)

COME ON?!!!

Who is "you"?

I find all of these kind of songs too vague. Give me a hymn anyday rather than this!

well I'm sorry my friend, the people cut most of the song off, thats the tail end of it.

Besides guys, when you make those hymn comments, if you only knew, some down here in the good ol bible belt of the southeast, I get blasted time to time from people who just like the tradition of it all, the King James, the good ol hymns and the southern gospel.  I've had people tell me my music was of the devil and so.

I like it all, the music was written from the heart, its good to me.  Besides, watch the first link I put, the "From the Inside Out" song, it ain't watered down.

all our church uses for their worship is hillsong united... it is really great stuff although it kinda loses it's appeal to me when I have heard their songs 3-4 times a week consistantly...   I prefer the remixes that have sprung up...  (Dima, Frank Nuckless)

I like original hillsong tunes....but as techno enthusiast...I would love to hear TRUE techno remixes! Smiley

IMO, Todd Agnew did a nice mixture of old and new with the song "Grace Like Rain". Cool

me too.  my point is Hillsong isn't but I have heard those wimpy songs, but I hear them more in contemporary.  As far as praise stuff, some of the best is what Passion/Sixsteps Records put out and Hillsong United does.  But I agree, I got tired of Shout to the Lord also.

imho the church needs the old hymns and the new songs. It's great to hear the old songs and what God did long ago, but we can't keep looking at the past either. We need great songs and song writers today.

Amen! Most folks (in general, not talking TF here) seem to have an "either/or" view. Why is is it like we have to choose a side? On Sunday, my wife and I got to the "contemporary" service at our church and sing praise choruses. We also attend the Wednesday night service where we pull out the hymnal. I enjoy both and can worship to both, just in slightly different ways.

But thats a point thats being made here is singing praise songs neccesarily contempory?
For many chruchers now its the only expression og worship. Im all for both and rather than either/or but lets not say hill song style is contempory. I dont believe it is
