Sienfeld
Star Trek (the Picard one)
The Amazing Race
um....thats it

I don't watch TV anymore. I bought all the "LOST" episodes (that's 2 seasons right?) on the DVD collection yesterday, as I'll be in Russia for a month with no TV and just my laptop. I'm glad that one got mentioned above, cuz I thought it looked good but I bought it on a whim.

I liked "The Simpsons" a whole lot more before I had kids. When my daughter was around 3yo and started really taking note of Bart's behavior, my perspective on the whole show changed radically.

I'd agree with "CSI" (Las Vegas). Miami is eh. NY is really lame.

We watched CSI:NY this past week out of boredom. One of the CSIs was trapped in this dead guy's panic room. He found something with a print on it, held it like 6" from a security camera, and the CSI outside the room took a picture of it in order to run the print.

Let's see....

1. It's highly unlikely the security camera in the panic room would be configured to focus clearly on something 6" away.

2. The refresh rate of the monitor would've left flicker in the image.

3. The flash from the camera would've created a whole bunch of glare on the monitor screen.

4. The resolution of the finger print (after being enlarged to fill 1/4 of the computer screen--the one with all the flashy, yet totally unnecessary graphics) was like 10 times better than the resolution of the monitor in the security system.

A lot of the 'techniques' they use are fake and made up. I remember one when they got a 'recording' of a conversation about two people killing someone from a clay jar. the brush that the guy was using when they were talking made grooves on the jar. Later you see it in the lab standing on a Numark turntable (the one with the blue digiatal display on it and with the tone arm still attached) and recorded it into the computer. The lady applied a high pass filter and a low pass filtr and voila! "Kill him, you must kill him!" pshh, yeah right!

And i totally for got the Office. Maybe that should be #10 instead of the waltons!

Simpsons
true. nothing more need be said.

#1 ever: Mystery Science Theater 3000.

now nothing more needs to be said.  Wink

hmmm..there's 2 categories here for me: stuff that's my fave now,and stuff i'd take to a desert island with me. i'll just blend the 2 lists

#1 = Mystery Science Theater 3000.  (oh,did i say that? yeah, i love this show. nothing before or since has been close to this funny, imho. )

2. seinfeld
3. law & order  (seasons 1-8 or so)
4. columbo
5. angel
6. CSI
7. the honeymooners
8. smallville
9. the rockford files
10. the simpsons

bubbling under the top 10:
i love numbers, but have only seen the first season so far. (long wait online to rent it)
it's weird,but i'm a miami ink junkie. i only have 1 tattoo,but i can't wait to see what happens.
also, bones. wanted to see what david boreanaz (angel) was up to, and got hooked on the show.
i do like 24,but am not close to up to date with that show. on season 3 on renting...

Man! This thread is reminding me of a lot of shows I didn't think of "Angel" and "Buffy" were great!

In my top-10 list of best episodes ever (yet another thread?) would be "Once More with Feeling" (Buffy, season 6, episode 7). It held its own well as a musical, it was incredibly funny, it advanced the plot significantly, and it was incredibly emotional and heavy. All of that in 43 minutes.
