Growing up - Number one favouritest EVER track... "Somebody" By Depeche.

The following are groups that besides God, kept me alive in the early 80's. Literally. Moving from Kissimmee Florida to bum fark egypt (Georgia) in the small town of Blairsville, with only one traffik light, [celebrated the fall I moved there] yes, in the ENTIRE freaking town... it was a culture shock from hell. I hated it. I had never before this seen, much less heard of racism, this place had NO tolerance, they burnt out EVERY other family that was different from them in colour, beliefs, etc. They despised every person that moved into their community. EVERY one. The following groups like I said, [LITERALLY] kept me alive.

Depeche Mode:  Blasphemous Rumours/Lie To Me/Leave In Silence/Fly On The Window screen/Shame/Shake The Disease/Stories Of Old/It Doesn't Matter

Split Enz - A HUGE influence on me growing up... I ADORED this group. One of  New Zeland's finest... [imho] - ANYTHING by them... GOD I love em.

Pseudo Echo: A beat for you/Stranger In Me/Walkaway

Visage - Blocks On Blocks/Visa-age/Fade To Grey

Tears For Fears -Watch Me Bleed/The Prisoner/ Mad World

Buzzcocks... Omg = LOVE!~

Psychadelic Furs - Ghost In You

Icicle Works - Birds Fly - but it was cos of the drums, which I adore, and play now, like I did then!

Hojo Hide & Seek

Real Life: Send Me An Angel - yes, as tacky as it was, even back then... I needed love. lol

The Smiths - Meat Is Murder/ Meat Is Murder/headmaster Ritual

PiL [Public Image Limited] [John Lydon] - Bad Life/ Tie Me To The Length Of That/ Anarchy In The UK (Sex Pistols)

UK Decay/ WEREWOLF/Dresden/Sexual

Echo & The Bunnymen - The Back Of Love/The Cutter/The Puppet - anything by them, really.

Heaven 17- ah what a group!

If its any consolation....in my town we have one of those blinking red lights at the four way stop that warn you that theres a four way stop. And thats it....

however there doesnt seem to be any racism, or rather I havent seen or heard anyone say anything then again there isnt all that much cultural diversity in this town. Except for teh indian store owners and people seem to like them. They have cute sons. lol.

I dont know. My favourite songs are wonderwall by oasis and beautiful things by andain. Then come a whole bunch of tied ones. I cant choose.

I LOVE MYLON!! I used to not be able to pronounce his last name very well....so it sounded like Mylon Forever to me. lol....gonna be a straaannnger to dannnger is what im gonna beeeeee. that song always made me think of a motorcycle.

"13. Hallelujah 2000 - Code of Ethics
When Code of Ethics went electronic, first four tracks are nice."

Correction. Code of Ethics returned to thier original sound. When COE started they were signed to R.E.X. Records and extremely electronic / dance. You could hear the influences from Depeche Mode, New Order, and other similar euro sounding groups. When they got signed to Forefront, they started to adapt thier sound to a church youth group friendlier sound. By thier 3rd album they were not even the same sound as what they set out to do. By the time they released "Soulbait", they were not even recognizable. Hallelujah 2000 was really a victory for them in my opinion because they were free from Forefront's heavy CCM influence and was making what I have always expected from COE.

I am just sad that Barry and Ian haven't done anything together in such a long time.

thanks for the history lesson, i just knew of Soulbait and Blaze as far as their albums, so I guess that is why made the comment.

14. Andy Hunter - Amazing
15. Andy Hunter - GO
First real christian dance tracks (as in ones that could be mixed well) that caught my attention.  Andy Hunter is still one of my favorites esp after meeting him and seeing him do a clubnight/worship night.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.
