Tastyfresh Presents... monthly right here on TF

how many adults are going to hang around if we have to stay in the kiddie pool and can't talk about religion, politics, etc?

Apparently 5,000-5,000 people a month if you believe the web logs that I have. That's pretty much been the estimate of the size of our scene for YEARS now. I also have more people telling me they will leave the site if I allow those discussions than I do people complaining about how we don't.

that's my personal gripe.....to be fair to Dave, many people have just naturally moved on because of careers, wives & kids, etc etc.

Thanks Davo for backing me up on this part Wink

BTW, I think you're 99% right on almost everything else you said Wink

Everybody. I am sorry. I was letting my own personal disappointment of myself get in the way of my judgment and took it out here. let's drop this and move on.

For the record, I am not leaving TF.

I have been doing a lot of thinking and praying. This has nothing to do with TF. I am just being a big baby screaming for attention. Now that I got it, I am embarrassed and ashamed.

wOW. Mad props Chris. We have an actual adult here, and I for one am honoured to say I know  you. Don't be ashamed man...I think at some point, we've all been there. Seems to be cyclical for me. Just the other day I was gripin' about this or things along the same line. Seeing your post helped me. You happen to be the catalyst in making me more involved here. I am on the writing team and involved in some other things here now because you, among others, made me realize that this place is a communal effort and that I need to contribute and not just EXPECT. Peace and happiness this Christmas bro!

I don't know be gone 3 days, travelled 547 miles and everything goes belly up!

It seems like passions have been running high here guys, i haven't been able to read everything but i've got the gist.

I think a little more brotherly love etc... would be handy.

Christian EDM is small, we can't expect to get hundereds of people listening to the shows we do, downloading our music etc... I'm certainly not expecting much money to be made from my forthcoming release. Its all about low expectations, but with that being assured that if its God's will there'll be greater rewards - here and after!

Anyway looks like i've missed the bulk of this, but i'll be praying as ever for TF; it's present and it's future.

Peace to all.

That's a lot of espressos at a lot of Internet cafes. Could you imagine Chris on that much caffeine?!?!?!?

chris, i struggle with disappointment every day, it helps to know that other's go through similar things so i can sort of relate a bit.  another thing, my mom told me this the other day, that just because things aren't going the way they were planned doesn't mean they are going completely wrong.  i hate being cliche about stuff cuz i don't like christianese answers but God has helped me grow through circumstances where i thought i made the right decision and things went horribly wrong, at least in my eyes, but now i am finding out 5 years later that perhaps there was a purpose to my "wasted" years.   this is just my own experience and it may come out different for you but i hope you hang in there because life is one long character building experience and so far for me its kind of sucked haha.

anyway, as far as the elitist thing goes i can kind of relate but to be fair i thought the elitism was worse when i first joined TF, i've never really felt a part of TF but for some reason i still come to the boards and hang out.    i do my best to help out producers looking for advice and i want to keep that sense of community as much as i can.  TF is a bit of a haven for me at times as well because being out in the "secular" field can be tiresome and draining.
anyway sorry for the digression there, i hope things work out for you.

x2.  i was at our club's christmas party and i'm thinking to myself, "what the heck am i doing here? am i wasting my time DJing every Tuesday? am i impacting anyone's life in a positive way or am i just DJing for the thrill of it (or is it just a job & that's what i have to put up with)? "

i'm not any better than they are,it's just hard to be around.  ask Joel about the kinds of junk you see in the clubs. it would wake up a lot of christians out of their slumber and realize there's real problems out there.  and not just some abstract 'we need to support missionaries in Uganda'.

ANYway, you guys rule!  glad i have a safe place to come to.

Yep, i'm still here, have lurked moar in the mean time.

I'm sorry about saying that i'm leaving, but i was quite frustrated how i was being treated in the "In Progress" sub-forum.
Maybe i focus too much on that, but some searching reveals that that isn't the only sub-forum i post in.

Truth is that i'm a hobby producer, i produce for myself and anybody else who wants to hear it.
Yes, i'm often stubborn with advice i don't like, but if it does apply, i will eventually use it.
So Dave, your advice isn't fruitless, it only needs longer to bear fruit when i don't immediatly accept it as aplying to my tracks, so please continue to give good advice to me, i'll eventually take it to heart and make good use of it.

I'm still a bit disappointed about the serious lack of response to new tracks posted in "In Progress", it's so much less feedback than years ago.
It also concerns me too, i don't give enough feedback either, but not everything is relevant to my interest and in some ocassions i can only say "Yeah, it's a track, but totally not my style of liking." and then it's better to shut up than up my post count again.

Prayer is something i need to do more, much more, but then i can begin with my own stuff first, there's just so much to pray for.
About getting involved in projects and stuff: I could, but i live in the Netherlands, don't DJ, only produce as a hobby and am reasonably isolated in the town of Groningen.
There's totally no christian EDM scene in this town, i haven't even found another christian who likes any kind of EDM, let alone trance, it's a bit depressing.

I will give some feedback now on some tracks and i'll see when i'll post my latest version of Dignified.

God bless, Jan.
