wanted to know if anyone out there also uses it for mixing?

if you do, share some tips and tricks.

Also can you set up where you can change the pitch of the track like on a turntable?

ive been playing with it tonight with success and having a blast, trying different midi configs to see whats the best and what I want it to do.

Im gonna use it for mashups and stuff once I get my speakers in so I can DJ again.

I tryed the same thing, I'm glad I did.  I think I getting to the point where I hate this blasted computer and configuring all this stuff.  It's a big head ache to sit infront of a computer and make music or dj.  I think I'm going to stay away from live and just use cd decks.  I see live being alot of fun and the option to make mash up's is way cool.  Have you played with taking out aspects of a track yet.  I asume that you can get rid out drums high hat and all that once you load a song into it?

thats one reason why Im gonna start using it for

as far as writing music in Live then loading them you can do that, but not a pre-recorded track.

its actually not hard to configure a midi controller for Live.  Im using it along with my turntables and Final Scratch.

I have used it and it works great for me. Here is a mix I did with it.

http://www.jeremykadinger.com/segues%20show%2003%2017%2006%20web.mp3

I did this with the demo version. I downloaded the free version, loaded in some songs, hooked up my Roland SH32 as a controler, Played with the set up for a few hours then hit record in Cool Edit. what you hear is a live recording done in one pass with minimal postproduction. I am still playing out with CD decks (sold the turntables years ago) but laptop is were I am going. I am also planning to use the midi functions with my light controler to run light scenes in sync with the audio.

its a drum n bass mix I called Warzones, but I must of sucked cause 20 people have looked at it and not said anything.

Hey, you might want to post mix-sets outside of tastyfresh, Im sure there are entire M-Boards dedicated to Drum and Bass... might get different reviews

about Ableton, i was going to use it for recording DJ mixes.
I have the Vestax CDX-05 CD spinners, which have SPDIF out
(really good A/D converters it sounds like) I was thinking of recording
SPDIF outs from the CDX's right to Ableton.  Ill need an extra
soundcard from ebay though!  I need to figure out a way to monitor
the 2 channels and x-fade just like using a DJ mixer, I know Ableton
has these features.  I should get that X controller thingy, anyone got/know
 one for sale?

I use the Behringer BCD2000... it's sweet... got the jog wheels working within traktor 3... works like a charm...

I don't use the built in audio interface, instead I use my echo indigo dj pcmcia card... so it's just a midi interface for me and it works great.

Sorry Not to have been on tasy fresh for ages

So this is a late reply

HAve been using Baleton for a year now for playing out and also on my podcast www.djvicar.co.uk

Started of using a cheap midi contoller but more recently bought a evolution 8 channel midi controller. And also got a pioneer cdj 800 running into lives input for scratching and being more spontaneous in the mix.

My main tip would be in preparing every thing ahead of time! and getting the cues tweaked.
