Oh!
Yeah, I thought you meant stepping outside the church scene in general.
So, I did all that rambling for nothing.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

haha but yeah I agree with you, my dream is to eventually step out of djing in the churches and maybe do positive-drug free events that will attract a more secular crowd... but first I feel I need to get a chance to do a church event... currently it's difficult because the few church events I have djed locally were just parties with a dj rather than a club night or dance night... the kids in my church really aren't very familar with the whole edm scene so I drop some edm and they just don't know what to do lol...
skate nights sound like a really good idea... I have thought of that myself also for our area... I just don't know how our church would be able to handle the liabilities

That's something I need to investigate myself. I'm assuming--possibly incorrectly--that it shouldn't be a huge deal since the rinks rent out to private individuals for birthday parties and whatnot quite often.
As far as the church kids not knowing what to do when they hear EDM: I've considered doing something like contacting Jeff and Jon at Club Worship to see whether some of their crew would be interested in coming to an event out this way and use them somewhat as plants in the audience to initiate dancing. If somebody is willing to break the ice, I'm hoping that others will step out and take the chance as well.

Yeah, i think thats a good idea... even tho i'm in the UK!
Maybe like a video on how to dance in a pure, creative way; or how to dance would be a good thing for the Club Worship guys to do. YOu can't really get across how to dance through an audio podcast...

Well.... We were talking about people who don't know what to do when they hear EDM and "how to dance" videos. I can't dance to save my life.....
Oh well.
