This is what happened to me the other morning. The red path is the way I went and why it took me 30 min to get to the parking deck AFTER i got off 1-20. The blue are the two ways I SHOULD have taken despite the traffic.

A few years ago, one of the IT bosses at the Georgia Tech Foundation asked me if I'd be interested in a job they had open. I told him I was flattered that he asked and that, if I worked anywhere but where I am now, I'd love to work with those folks (the GTF IT folks are an awesome group of people). However, me and cities just don't mix, so I gently turned him down.
Every time we visit my family in Wilmington, DE, the rightness of that decision is reinforced in my mind. [shudder]

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

If you'd gone to Georgia Tech, you probably wouldn't have had a car on campus any way. At least not your freshman year...
Traffic doesn't affect you if you rarely leave campus!

You do have the Passion conference happening right now in Atlanta. Maybe that was cause for the bad traffic?

Don't talk to me about traffic. ONe word for you and California can give some pointers:
MOSCOW
Dreadful. 7 hours to travel accross the city and back. On Saturday. We won't get into how the week days went.

Cry babies.
If I drive to work at midnight, it will take me 5 minutes.
If I leave my office at 4:55pm, it will take about 25 minutes.
If I leave at 5:05pm, it will take 45 to 60 minutes.

Seriously, When I was living in the Inland Empire of California, I had to drive about 25 - 30 minutes to get to the drop location to pick up my route & equipment to install for the day. Usually a drive like that takes about an half hour or so. BUT every day in the morning and afternoon, that drive takesbetween 1 hour - almost 2 hours just from people trying to get to/from work. Even worse if there is an accident....and there always is.

You must have missed my post. I said MOSCOW. Period. I live on the highway 401...it's a Sunday Drive compared to Russia's problem.

Um... try this:
Midnight: 30 min
10 am: 30min
7-8 am/4:30-6:00pm: 60-120 min
I have you beat sir. At least I think I do. You might have 1 bad road, but all of mine are bad. The bad traffic day that started this was about 2.5 hours long. It took me 2 hours to GET to where I spent the 30 min lost in Atlanta.
