Question: Considering the state of music distibution, do you think it is beneficial for an artist to press vinyl of their tracks for DJs?

Dave, I'm surprised that you, who works in the design field, with styles cycling all the time, don't think that vinyl will bounce back in some way.  i don't think it will bounce all the way back to its former glory, far from it, but i certainly think it will either level out or even climb back up a bit. 

Doing typography by hand or design outside of the computer hasn't really bounced back yet you know Wink

Vinyl will never totally die out, but I don't see how it can be the dominate media ever again in this scene. Even in audiophile circles it's not dominate.

You have to understand, I'll looking at this more from a practical and tool perspective rather than style. The CD replaced vinyl. The CD replaced tape. The mp3 is replacing all 3 and society will not be going back.

well, my sister is doing a lot of that outside of the computer and she's in a fairly established design program here in vancouver.

i understand that you are looking at things practically but i never said vinyl would be the dominant media again.   oh and mixtapes are coming back somewhat so my theory on the cycles stands.
