I don't think ANY of those groups have anything on vinyl except MWS, but that's WAY to old. So yeah... what style of dance music are your looking for?

Oh boy. Then you need CDs and this probably isn't the site for you then. This site is gear toward the Christians who like and play techno, house, drum and bass, trance, chillout and so on. In some cases, it's only music created by Christians. In some it's a hybrid.

Vinyl pretty much exists now for very special runs of rock/pop singles, hip-hop and well... dance music. Very little of it is by Christians simply because there are very few labels that can afford it right now.

Please understand before you read any futher that I am not trying to attack you or get on your case. I just wanna know and this is the only way I can think to word this. I come in peace.  laugh

I am curious as to why you would come to a Christian Dance/techno website and ask on how to find vinyl that is NOT techno? there are plenty of websites who would be happy to guide you to some good Christian music stiores, but like redsavior said, you aren't gonna find any on vinyl. Also, why are you looking for Christian rock/pop/etc stuff on vinyl for DJ'ing purposes? MOST Christian mobile DJ's use CD's for thier music because MOST Christian record labels have not made vinyl in decades.

Well I honestly didnt know this was a strictly christian/techno website at first. The first thing I noticed was christian djs and I figured if there was a christian dj web site then there must be christian vinyls. Anyways, the main reason why I was looking for christian rock/rap/reggae (anthing except techno because of what alot of it stands for) is so I can worsip god and turntable for my youth group and god. Also I really enjoy playing turntables.

I think you may have some misconcieved notions about dance music by your use of the term "because of what alot of it stands for". YES secular dance music has sexual and drug references, but so does secular rock and rap...if anything secular rap and rock has MORE of a reputation for promoting those things, since a lot of dance music tends to be instrumental. So your reason for avoiding dance music is quickly washed away like a sand castle.

I will say there are PLENTY of Godly, Holy Spirit inspired, Christians who produce dance music of all forms (or "techno" as you have generalized it). You can worship God to dance music. Need any proof, look to the Club Worship website at www.clubworship.com. Also, a well known player in the Christian scene, Andy Hunter, leads worship from the turntables just as effectively as any Sunday Morning worship leader. Also, there are a LOT of Christians in the secular scene who spin in secular clubs and raves for the purpose of reaching the lost. So...like a really old and rediculous saying goes, don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

If it comes down to a personal preference and if you just don't like dance music, that's cool. Just own up to that.

If you are looking for Christian rap on vinyl, I'd direct you to www.sphereofhiphop.com. It is to rap as Tastyfresh is to dance. Here is a direct link to thier vinyl: http://www.sphereofhiphop.com/store/vinyl.htm

Good luck and God bless you on your search.

I'd also say that Reggae has a TON more drug references than dance music AND on top of that is the whole Rastifarian cult/religion thing too. Secular rock music has a "nice" blend of sex, drugs and occult references throughout it.

Dance music, lyrically, often is the most tame form of music out there (But not always).

Sorry for trying to say that dance music is wrong. I think it is so awesome that you guys are able to be in that enviroment as christians and be able to minister to others. But as for me... Well me and my friends some how got caught up in that whole rave scene and I eventually stopped hanging out with those kids and repented and turned back to god about a year and a half ago, but now when I listen to techno I get bad memories/vibes of my past. I really apreciate all your help and ill definetly be praying for you all.

Oh man... join the club Smiley Many people here have gone through EXACTLY what you have been experiencing. God may bring you back to this. He may not. When he does though, you'll know that this is a mission field and you'll be strong enough to resist temptation.

Some posts, it seems to me that people think that God can only speak throught music made by christians. (i might have misinterpreted that, so correct me if I'm wrong).

I know for a fact that God uses so called "secular" music to speak to people. I experience this often myself. Lyrics, even though written by someone who doesn't live a "christ centered" life, can still contain Biblical truth. This person maybe an buddist or muslim. To me that doesn't make a difference. If a tune contains biblical truth, than I think God is able to speak through that. It is not so, that people who aren't christians haven't got anything valuable to tell or share....

Nobody implied that ('cept maybe Jamie). He's looking for Christian music b/c secular reminds him of how he used to live.

...but now when I listen to techno I get bad memories/vibes of my past.

We're just helping him get what he wants. If this is where he is in his walk, then this is where he is Wink Things may change later, but right now he feels that he needs to listen only to Christian music.
