i had a phone conversation with phillip the other day:

1. nsoul has signed deal with itunes.  will be on there shortly
2. a sampler and a brand new trance artist(noone you have heard of)  is going to be released this year.
3. nsoul is really selling alot of cds and product to countries that are craving christian music.
4. nsoul.com is getting a MAJOR facelift.  It has already begun.  You can go there and see.
thats it.

That's the buzz!

that would be pretty sweet if their whole back catalog was made avail on itunes...  I used to get nervous to order from them becasue the website looked so dead lol

well... only if they have the proper rights to do so. Most of those contracts (that I know about) specified a limited amount of time N*soul was allowed to sell that material and NONE of them had digital distribution clauses. The eclectica series for example was 10 years. We're coming up close on that now for the first issue.

The eclectica series for example was 10 years.

Anybody have extra copies of these. Yeah, some of the material was lame. Most is out of date. But they were some of my first introductions to bands.

And I let another DJ borrow them and well, it's been nearly 6 yrs and I've still not got them back. *lol*

(Oh yes, I now have implemented the...."Look, if you want to burn them on your own time that's fine. But I no longer let CDs (or DVDs) out of my possession."

Obviously we've been over the whole "NSoul" thing before, so I'm not going to even bother with that. But still, every time I think about the whole "Phillip Kim Era", it's all I can do to avoid getting angry all over again.

I mean, I don't know how many of you know this, but Jorge (Antidote) had finished a whole new trance album before NSoul bit the big one. I have a copy of it, and it's really stinking good, but because of trademark/licensing/contractual issues, it'll never see the light of day.

pretty simple solution (unless nsoul already owns the songs). change the name of his band...

maybe. depends if he had already delievered the material to N*Soul yet or not. If N*Soul knows that's the new album, then to release it under a different name MIGHT be seen as a breach of contract. Well... that's how I would view it, but I'm not a lawyer.
