Hey Saryn...I've been paid to dj. a bunch of times. It,especially, feels good to walk away with $100 for a one hour set...twice. Smiley

interesting.

I'd say that he is in New Orleans based on the fact that his site DID say he'd be secretly traveling the US, playing at private events. There's a major possibility that it IS tiesto.

Now as far as the fiancee thing, that sounds like an urban legend. His fiancee was here in Miami a few years ago and was generally being a pain at one of his gigs, so I've heard. There was some tension between them causing Tiesto's set not to go so smoothly.

If she did die, may she rest in peace, but Tiesto would have most likely publicized it (like PvD and his grandfather).

The worship leading sounds like another urban myth, but he might be a Christian. (Avalon remix is a clue). Most likely he was spinning a private party a lot of church members had attended.

btw, I really like this forum title... sounds like something out of a tabloid.

Tiesto CAUGHT red-handed.... helping in New Orleans... Is he a believer? or is this a publicity stunt to pull him back to number 1 DJ? (page 5)

Telling if someone famous is christian or not is really difficult. In a lot of cd cases, you can usually find the part where the artist thanks people, and they usually thank God, even if they're a demonic heavy metal band or something. Maybe they do it for publicity?

Then again, if I became famous, and I showed acts of christianity, I wouldn't want doubts about if I was really christian or not, just because I was a famous musician

eh... just look at all the rap cds out there where they do just that and then since about how it's all about getting the girl in bed, drinking and getting money. They may thank God, but does that thank really mean anything? I dunno. If the fruit isn't there...

I myself feel Tiesto is a Christian or at least a believer in Christ and I only feel this because as a Christian myself I tend to get a bit of a sixth sense about people whether they are believers or not and I tend to be right on most of the time.  Why do I feel he is Christian you may ask, why does my gut tell me his may be a Christian/Believer?  The answer is, I can see it in his eyes, hear it in his music, in the lyrics, in the pure sound that he delivers to the whole world, I can feel the love pulsing from his music.  I ask all of you why it would be so hard to believe that the once #1 dj in the world could be a Christian, who better of a person than Tiesto to lead the Christian movement?  I say we should ask him what his beliefs are and to do that we all send him email after email, letter after letter, forum posts, messages on myspace etc....  Whatever we can to catch his attention, I feel if we can get his attention and show him that there is a huge movement of Christians in the dance music scene then maybe if he truly is Christian, then maybe he'll take the wheel and steer the Christian dance movement right into the spotlight and lead the way to ultimate glory for all of us.

This may sound over zealous or way to poetic, but this is what I feel about Tiesto and I really, really hope that this turns out to be true.  Wouldn't it be victorious for all of us as Christians if this man turns out to be follower of Christ our Lord and Savior?

If there is one thing Clover Fest is teaching me, it's that we have been living in a very VERY small world and have no idea about the number of Xians out there. Beyond that... "ultimate glory for all of us"? I hope that's just poorly typed Wink

It would be a great thing if Tiesto is a Christian, but I don't think it would change a thing other than our perspective given how may Christians are already working hard in the secular scene and how many currently bridging that gap. I'm seriously starting to think that we have simply been holding ourselves back in some cases (not all).

OH... BTW, Tiesto is #2 now. PvD is #1 Wink

As for your comment that Christian dj's are holding themselves back, I totally agree with that statement.  I've been in the Secular dance scene for years and if it weren't for the fact that I pay attention to the underground Christian dance scene I would've probably never known that there were Christian dj's in the secular scene or even that a Christian scene even existed.  I really think it's high time that Christians in the Dance scene whether it be secular or Christian or both should make their presence known because honestly, we can never hope to influence others in the dance music community especially in the secular scene if we are seen but never heard and by that I mean, people see Christian dj's play all the time but never know that they are Christian even if it is in the lyrics of their sets, we need to make our presence as Christians known and yet continue to play killer sets and produce superb tracks of our own, we need to market our product which is our faith and bring it to the masses not make it subliminal messaging.

He means that we are not to get any ultimate glory, or any glory for that matter. Christ is to recieve the glory. All honor, all glory, all praise to Him.

I understand the sentiment behind what you said, however the semantics were off.

I will say this, if Tiesto is a Christian, that's awesome. But it will not be a victory for us. Getting people saved should never be considered a victory for us. They are not trophies for us to display. They are precious souls that God longs to commune with. The victory is for the person who gave thier heart to Christ and for Christ who won another for His Kingdom.

For us to want them to be a Christian because of thier status (any celebrity) is almost selfish on our part. It's an ulterior motive. We want them to be a Christian so we can show the world who we have "on our side". When we realize what celebrity is a Christian, it's almost as if we put an extra layer of pressure on them to be the Christian Posterchild and win the world for Christ when we in our small towns do nothing to reach our own communities.

I'm not saying you are wrong in your zeal. I am right there with you. I am just saying, let's just keep things simple and in perspective. Let's continue to hope and pray for Tiesto, BT, PVD, Oakenfold, etc...our "heroes" in this dance thing...and let's reach out to them via thier message boards and email. Our motive? That they will not be found in the firey pit, lost without hope in the end. That one day, they will hear the words from Jehovah's mouth, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into the Kingdom". And, if by some chance that God puts the calling on them to use thier gifts as a ministry (as does Andy Hunter), then all praise goes to God. It will then be our job to pray for thier safety and ministry success.

I understand what you guys are saying and you're right, I worded that comment totally wrong, was not meant in the way it was taken.  What I meant was that in this world as Christians their is a constant battle between good and evil and as Christians, to have a person of Tiesto's stature on our side of the fence is a great victory, it means that despite his beliefs he still overcame those odds to become what he is today which is a great testement to those who may feel Chrisitanity holds them back from becoming great themselves, in that, it's a battle won for our team and yes, the Ultimate Glory goes to our Lord and Savior.  Tiesto in my mind, if he really is a Christian, represents a great general leading his troops in battle.  I have no other goal in mind than to simply witness to others.
