forget reaktor. download the free kore player and buy a couple of soundpacks. Reaktor will frustrate you to no end and the kore player will get the same sound.

Over time I have learned that producing isn't for the faint of heart.  Also being a good producer just means you overcame loads of days when you wanted to throw all your gear in the trash.  Yeah it takes time, I can't tell you how many hours I have logged in the studio, I mean its literally thousands of hours, it doesn't come easy, but yeah it takes time and committment.  Its not for everyone...

I can second that.

I know a friend who once was a great producer and used to inspire me but sold everything as his wife called the shots   Cheesy

oh man, bummer.....other than, writer's blocks, God would be only one to stop me from music.

man, I would keep your stuff, I second what people have said so far.  Right now, I haven't really written anything since last spring.  Now I will be start to again soon, been wanting to actually.  Why did you decide to get Logic and Cubase?  If it would help, I would get some tutorials on those or one of the programs you like.  I had got some for myself and helped a good bit.  It took me two years, of learning more, switching programs, getting better gear before I finally released something decent.  So take a break or work at it harder, whatever you feel called to do.
