I should write something witty here....

Alex,

I haven't said that I don't think Justin and Colin are strong Christians. Nor have I said that they aren't called to minister to the club scene. However, does that mean that I have to agree with everything they do or that they're incapable of making a mistake in their desire to minister?

The only thing I've said "against" them is that I believe it was unwise--ok, I did go to the point of actually saying I believed it was wrong--of them to be participants in a gay pride parade. That's the beginning and end of my disagreement with anything I've heard about them. (Side note: In talking with the youth pastor about DJ-led worship and Christians in the club culture in general, I related to him the story that Dave R told of the impact they'd had on a club owner or label guy--can't remember off-hand--simply through the way they carried themselves around the guy.)

I haven't even questioned their intentions in participating in the parade. They very well had the purest of intentions. However, it is possible to make unwise or wrong choices while still having good intentions. Heck, I (regretably) manage to do that on a regular basis in my marriage.

Unless your comments were directed at someone other than me, I don't see how my disagreement with them on this one issue is in any way espousing isolationism.

By your reasoning, Alex, I'm not allowed to disagree with any of the pastors of my church if I feel that any or all of them have made a decision that I feel is wrong. They're human, and therefore are capable of making mistakes. The brothers Moreh are human as well. (And, yeah, before someone points out that I didn't mention it, I am too.)

I can believe that they are effective ministers of the Gospel, called by God, while not having to believe that they are infallible.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

Let me describe to you all a vision God has given me. I've had it on a couple of occasions, and have had it confirmed by prophecy. I don't know when it'll happen, but in faith I'm believing it will. The vision was, simply, that I was in a club (regular, secular club) spinning wonderful trancey tunes, and spontaneously the people on the dance floor fell to their knees, as the tangible overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit entered the room.
The Holy Spirit does not make himself known. The Holy Spirit's job is to work in people behind the scenes, and he never draws attention to himself. I wouldn't place much stock in such "visions", especially since the scriptural canon is closed, and we are not receiving new instructions from God.

Quote
it certainly will appear to logical people that we are also promoting sin.

Who/what are logical people, to my relationship with Christ?

So what about the church that I belong to? Or other Christians who know me? Doesn't it damage my witness to them if I am promoting things that, as a Christian, I believe are wrong? I'm studying to be a deacon in my church, and I'm told that I must be "above reproach". Granted, they're not saying that I need to be perfectly sinless, spiritually perfect, but if I participate in a gay pride event as a headlining act, that's not a good way to pursue the holiness to which I'm called. And how am I to erase the images I would see at such a parade?

I'm not going to debate with you further because I see we are at totally different places, with different theological viewpoints. I will pray that you will experience God's spirit in an intimate and powerful way.

Hi, didn't think I would post again in this thread but have been reading it to see what every one has been saying...

I dont have any new comments but thought I'd mention that two of my Gay friends told us that they are getting married next year which in UK legal terms really means a Civil partnership.

We know them from church one is a regular attender/believer.

Guess who's back from ban City....

Rodimus...

I've seen you say some incredibly stupid things in your time,  but questioning the faith of Colin and Justin is quite possibly the most dumb thing you've ever done on these boards.  I've known the guys personally for over two years right now,  and you WILL NOT find two people who love the Lord with all their heart more than Colin & Justin.  The VERY INKLING that you would question this makes me sick,  and should make you sick as well.  I cannot believe that someone who claims to be a Christian would come on a message board like this and make unsubstantiated statements like that without actually knowing a person.

You're making a statement about two people who are my brothers and you are COMPLETELY out of line.  Please do not PM me about this.  I do not care to discuss this with you.

As for the rest of you....

You're making mountains out of molehills.  If you don't like a company's policy,  then just don't buy from them.  Why does everything have to become a big hairy deal around here?

Rod... way out of line on Colin and Justin. If you actually new them like we do... as in emailing them, calling them and working with them on a regular basis, you would not doubt their faith. Period.

RE Gay Pride.

Beatport is the largest and best know source for dance music. Period. They of course do things that we as Christians don't agree with. Heck, Christians don't do things Christians agree with. Are you all willing to remove all of your tracks from their inventory over this? Are you willing to make it that much harder for people to find dance music written by Christians? Are you wanting to cut off the only entity actually paying to help keep this site online? Are you willing to not use beatportal to promote this site?

Guys, get over it.

I thought it was a question worth pondering. I still don't know if I should continue as a subscriber—I haven't bought anything in years—and I was curious if other people had the same questions. If not, then, that's too bad.

No, because we are a bunch of big babies who want to sound important and spiritual. We all need to learn to grow up let stupid stuff go.
