For the past few days, I have had what can best be described as swimmers ear on the left side. Another way to describe it is what your ears do when you change elevation and you have to pop your ear to go back to normal.

It's not constant, but it comes back whenever I chew. I have tried popping it but with no results. I have tried cleaning it with Q-tips, but you can only go so deep before you start doing damage. I am a little freaked out now.

Anybody else ever experience this?

ringing is kinda normal. I've never heard of people having prolonged ear pressure.

Ive had the ear pressure thing before, it was mainly when I went up north to the mountains...And I had it at times when it was just very humid. i would have it for like 3 days in a row... my advice would be to either try holding your nose and blow, or chew some gum... other than that, see a doctor.

I had that happen but with dizziness. I went to the docs and the did an ear pressure test. I had excess fluid that drained from the sinus cavity and I had to do a course of Flonase and Claritin. It cleared it up.

I had that happen once too and they just did a ear canal cleansing...with warm water & alcohol...and a weird syringe....but that helped clear up the blockages way deep.

sounds more like an ear infection any discharge coming out of it? you might just need some drops from the doc to clear it up.

Here's something that's worked for me....

If it actually is swimmer's ear, as odd as it might sound, try a mix of vinegar and rubbing alcohol. It helps kill bacteria in the ear canal and also evaporate moisture. You just leave it in your ear for maybe 20-30 seconds, depending on how it feels.

If that doesn't help after doing it once it twice, definitely see your doc.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

Sounds like this: http://www.tastyfresh.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,108/topic,8436.0

Hope it's not. My hearing is becoming worse in my left ear, but it's more about the discomfort of it 'clicking' all the time.
