I get what you guys are saying and I can respect that, but alot of it, I just dont believe in it, thats my own personal point of view. We all have different points of views on this, but thats ok.  hug

Actually, not it's not. You're view gets you sued. It's wrong and if I ever find you passing out my music without permission, I will be suing you and I will win. That's how it works. I OWN that music, you don't. It's what the law says that matters, not personal belief. Personal belief just makes you look like an idiot when you have to talk to a judge.

EXACTLY. mike is flat out wrong. you are breaking the law, and disrespecting artists by doing that. just because you personally feel its ok to do that, the LAW says that its wrong. so breaking the law is ok?

If Keith and these other artists do not want their old music shared anymore, that is their priority. They have grown as artists and their old music isn't very impressive to a new audience because...well it's old.

This is what i was trying to say. Honestly, I dont want my old crappy music shared because it could be negative towards peoples viewpoint of my skill as an artist/dj. People would hear it, and think that my old crappy music would accurately reflect who i was NOW, which is completely false. the music i have in progress now is far better then 4 years ago. i don't want that crap publicly displayed. it really does have negative effects for me. if that was someone's first impression of my skills, they would probably not look for additional music from me again.

Mike, You are so silly with your pictures. LOL  laugh I just wish you had a better understanding of what US artists have to go through to protect our music.

DLD, sorry to blow up your spot. Like I said, I know the service you were trying to provide. It's just so dodgy that even I won't try it. I have everything you posted on  CDRs in my office and I'd love to be able to throw it up all on CTF, but I'd get in so much trouble with this community that I would ruin the trust we have developed over the last 12 years. It's just not worth it to me.

Everybody else, for what it was worth...there was some great memories there. Lots of TF members who have long since moved on. Good times, good times.

No worries. It's unfortunate. I should have known better. I was expecting responses like "woah I forgot about that track" or "i can't believe that tracks still around" not "I'll sue you"

well, Since I'm new into starting to play different genres now, im definitely interested in what DLD had to offer....If I find anything, and I wanted to keep it, I WILL gladly pay for it.

Seriously, I'm up for new music ( well in this case, its old....However it's new to me, cause I haven't heard it yet). If one of you decide to give me a look over at whats available, Get in touch with me, as I am looking to PURCHASE.

Good spirit to want to purchase, but perhaps the only option to involve money with these tracks would be to paypal the producers directly because all these tracks were made freely available directly or indirectly through the TF forum. You won't find these on iTunes, Amazon, Beatport, nsoul, dc++, mininova, TT, or ebay. The problem lies in disseminating the material apparently, though the tracks at one time were freely and readily for download by me, you, Oprah, and Captain Planet. Since you're interested as perhaps others are, artists could answer the demand by posting a list of available tracks with prices, and hassle-free transactions could take place that way. This seems like the best way forward. My tracks are available for free and you can check them out at the URL I'll PM you briefly. If you like them, donate to Samaritan's Purse. If you don't, recycle bin.

If these were all free downloads from the artist/label originally...no laws broken.

I do understand if you're one of the artists, and you don't want your old stuff out there anymore.

A simple (and polite) "Could you please not share this" can get that taken care of.

I understand that your music is your property, just saying perhaps you overreacted a bit.

The fact that someone still cares about your music all these years later should be flattering!

Cool Im not an authority on the subject of this, so I will just give my 2 cents on this matter. People who appreciate [good music]& bad music as well lol are going to u/l them and share them with other like minded people, and or people who havent been introduced to the wonderful world of EDM whether it be Christian or not. I dont know how much of the "cardinal rules" have changed over the years, but when Napster was gaining popularity it was used by alot of people who were promoting thier own music, and others who were promoting, even though they were not your typical promoter. The point behind that was to get the music out there to people who enjoy the music whom usually could not find it, for various reasons. Alot of the songs that show up on youtube gained thier "popularity" originally on Napster, the old ones I mean. A lot of artists just want people to enjoy their music long story short, and lets face it theres not alot of money to be gained in the EDM genre unless, well you know Tiesto and Digweed, ect, yeah those guys play tracks by artists you will never hear from unless they played them or you went record hunting for hours on end everyday. That would be fun for awhile but eventually you would get bored, LOL. And lastly lets be real, theres not alot of exposure for Christian artists let alone in the EDM genre, if your one of the artists featured on the list dont get upset, people want to take the time actually d/l your material, be happy about it, it could do more good than bad, a non Christian can check out your tracks, might dig them and drop it in thier sets, and the cycle continues. [If] you want exposure or more then let those tracks be, whats the worse that can happen, a booking for a club or a deal that can get you signed.  Tongue Embarrassed Lips Sealed
Huh Huh
Embarrassed Huh Tongue Tongue That Rodney King picture I posted was a future response to what I knew what was coming, just in case you didnt get what that picture symbolized. I get what you guys are saying and I can respect that, but alot of it, I just dont believe in it, thats my own personal point of view. We all have different points of views on this, but thats ok.  hug

so with someone mentioning before, which tracks would be good for buying out of that list?  I have some, but not all and some I've never heard of before.

smiley23 I will admit after reading this thread,it did make me think alot about things. I sounded like an idiot and an anarchist or w/e. I admit I went over board on my views, but since then, now my views and perspectives are alot different from what they were originally when I first said what I had said. I realize I made a mistake by saying what I said, and I apologize if I had offended anyone in anyway. As a Digital DJ, and a Christian at that, who also receives promos, I do not want to mess up my credibility, or any chance of receiving future promos at that. Lastly, I am a huge fan of older EDM, and have and will continue to purchase w/e I can find. There is just something about older tracks that make me happy, they have a different type of feel to them, especially old Tek.
