But honestly, try it. It's worth every penny. it's seriously the best keyboard i have ever used. it's really simple in design, but the feel of it is just incredible. and its near impossible to buy just a blank keyboard anyway. i bought it for both of those reasons. if you ever get a chance to try one in person, it will change your mind.

i disagree, both of yours that you posted look completely ridiculous.

the blank Das Keyboard has simple style. you don't have to look outrageous to be awesome. it's simplicity is what makes it awesome. slick design, blank keys, smooth key-hit action, these are the features that make the das keyboard rad.

How about paying more for something that's practical and, frankly, a better keyboard. Really, how would a keyboard made of gold make for a better typing experience?

You seem to be missing the point. As keith has previously pointed out, it's much more than just "blank keys."

In addition to that, one thing that I've noticed with all non-traditionally designed "ergonomic" keyboards--similar to the Belkin model pictured above--is you don't see many people using them.

In my honest opinion, there's nothing wrong at all with tried-and-true IBM design that Das Keyboard is modeled after. From what I've read it's a expertly crafted keyboard. If you're a true keyboard-typer, you wouldn't ever look at the keys.

And if your l33t, you'd use the Dvorak Layout.

I have seen those before, but i heard from someone that they aren't as comfortable to type on, dispite how awesome it looks.


haha, this is exactly what i am trying to say. it's a finely crafted keyboard, that is made for a truly great LONG TERM typing experience. when you type all day long, this is something practical that really helps make for a better, more enjoyable experience. and if you wanted to switch to dvorak layout then it would be easier to adjust because of the blank keys.

this keyboard is not trying to be over the top with giant LED's or crazy designs, it never has been, it's just trying to give you a better typing experience in a practical way.
