Your lights are being watched

« on: June 03, 2008, 08:02:08 PM »

I got robbed last night at work. It happened freakin THREE minutes before we closed. I was the only person in the store, no costumers or anyone. The robber had a gun. I heard the bell go and I'm thinking to myself "great. a last minute customer" and I heard a yell, but I couldn't register what the yell was saying. As I turned around the robber was standing RIGHT NEXT TO ME, behind the counter and all, with a gun pointed at me. And you know me and my dumb self....I wasn't scared to die....I wasn't like "omg I'm gonna die" instead I was thinking "ohhh  police this is gonna hurt like hell".

Luckily, as you can see, he didn't shoot me. He just took the entire drawer and ran off. I found out this morning 2 other turkey hills were also robbed last night. It was the same guy in all of them. The turkey hills were all like 10-15 minutes away from each other, but what they did all have in common is they were all located right off a highway exit.

I didn't go to work today.....not that I'm scared.....well...I am scared a little but I would of gone back to work.....but I feel really sick and have gotten *NO* sleep. Everytime I try to sleep I keep having the same nightmare over and over again. I would seriously wake up like every 15 minutes. My head hurts so bad and my body aches. I just wanna get some sleep!  Cry

Wow! That's messed up.

My sister was involved in an armed robbery when she worked at a bank years ago. (She was on the barrel end, not the trigger end.) It shook her up pretty good.

I'll be praying for you, Kairsie.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

oh boy, hurt hate to hear this, I know it isn't an easy thing to deal with.  I work at a store too and sometimes that thought has crossed my mind.  One year we had several robberies up and down our road, that week was a little weird.

hug thank G-d ur not in the hospital on life support, glad ur alive. Does your store have a hiding place where you can access a gun, not to bring that up, but in this case you can never be to careful. Hope everything goes back to normal, keep ya head up.  Tongue

I will pray for you. I work at a bank too and the thought crosses my mind. I'm not afraid of dying as much as I am afraid of the pain of severe injury, or the thought of leaving my loved ones behind. We deal with enough gun-less lunatics every day.

Mike, a lot of times having a gun yourself just makes things worse. Plus like I said by the time I even turned around he was standing right next to me. There wouldn't of been any time to grab a gun.

I also deliberatly chose NOT to hit the panic button. My thinking was keep things as calm as possible. Had I done something to startle the robber he might of shot me in his fright.

very true. sometimes its best to just let them grab the cash and go. putting up a fight will only complicate things and make the robber even more hostile. last thing you want to do is piss off somebody with a gun pointed at your face.

One of the things they told us at training... your life is a lot more worthwhile to the bank than the cash in your drawer.
