Who are the prominent melodic techno producers today?

Does anyone know of more artists who are producing tracks like "A Break In The Clouds" by James Holden?

A break in the clouds is a classic old track. thats what made him famous.

i think you might be slightly misguided by the term "melodic techno". james holden i would classify as progressive.

if you are looking for real authentic melodic techno.... then check out music from the following artists:

kiko
moonbeam
sascha funke
whebba (makes a lot of prog, but also some fat melodic techno)

When I saw Colin & Justin (Shiloh) at Clover, they did a cool tag team set where one was playing mostly hard techno, and the other mostly melodic stuff.  It blended really well and sounded awesome!

I wish they would do a chart or something  Smiley

Joel's suggestions seem promising!

Planet E communications usually have atmosphere style tunes.

Joel Mull, Christian Smith, Steve Rachmad, Deetron, Joris Voorn, Carl Craig, Martin Buttrich, some of these guys still produce more melodic techno material at times.  Most all early detroit stuff is that way.

Grin Hard Tek, no way? Shiloh? That would be cool to hear, did they record it, alot of Shilohs stuff from what I have heard is pretty mellow.

What I've heard of Loco Dice is pretty mellow and melodic stuff.  Very nice and warm sounds.  Also Trentmoller's techno is very nice and warm.
