Tall skinny guy named Nick. Check. I don't know him, but I know who he is.

Nathan Gerber. Check Check. I wouldn't say we're friends, but he comes by now and again, and I've done sound for him before. His dance troup has performed at two of our Zeo parties.

Im back, feeling a bit ill and jet-lagged however.  Im camping on the weekend of August 6-7, no other plans as such.  I am definitely more on the side of starting small, for practical reasons.  I will put a post here and on DM4C about the meeting, and that whole word of mouth thing, not sure if Im up for 40 people as of yet.  Hows that sound to y'all??  Ideas on where to meet?  Party at someones house?

regarding previous discussion:

There are many things going on in the city (i.e. the Zeo party) but with no network, really,
for them knowing about eachother.  I keep bumping into different individuals that think they are going it alone, and its what has inspired me to get involved in this.   Anyways, I also wanted to be very carefull as to defining what a Toronto  "groove fellowship" would look like, as I know there could be many conflicting agendas etc..   to some people its about evangelizing the entire Toronto club scene, others just need to know their not the only Christian in this industry, others would see it as a collective for sharing resources, others to hook up with Christian producers to collaberate with etc...   its very hard to do something like this without the "Christian politics" of vying for ownership and leadership,
so Im also very wary of putting a name on it (for now).  I would want it to be something where those with before mentioned interests could all meet under one roof, and all be supported in some way.  It would also be good to have it supported by more than one denomination/pastor etc..  I know several different types of Christian leaders who would support me in something like this.  (as you folks probably do as well).  I don't want to be seen as the owner/proprieter of any such group, maybe more of a facilitator. But for now, I just want to meet those interested (off the Tastyfresh boards, DM4C list etc..) and talk it up at some place in the city.  I do think starting small is key, and I would prefer it be more GTA focused.

(p.s. to be honest y'all, Im becoming less and less insterested in the Internet as a way of communication, maybe its from being around computers more than people for 5 years of my life.
so all hail the chocolate latte)

How does the weekend of August 20th sound to you guys??  Just a casual get together
to fellowship, discuss things etc..  Again I have no clue as to what the best location would be....
(psst, India was...  an experience, but I could post a whole new thread on that)
I was hanging out with Nathan Gerber for a little while last year, I auditioned to be in a band of his
- turns out Im not into pop-rock.  Im sure he would be interested in a meeting like this.

thanks, Reds, actually writing that article is helping me focus and keep my mind off it, so its a good time to do that... and its a good way for me to give back in some way to TF and all the people who have supported me over the years, thanks! Smiley

Just prayed...

thanks, Jeremy... will try to come up to your meeting, I live about 1.5 hrs away by car.  I can come on Fri or Sat that weekend (will have to leave by 9pm on Sat), cant come on Sunday.

cant make any promises about involvement in any projects at this point since I live kinda far awayish now, but may be available for performing later in the year.
