How to Chart Properly?
«

I never chart. EVER. Not because I don't want to, but because I don't stick to the same set of tracks every time I spin. Well, that, and the fact that I just don't understand how it should be done properly.
For those of you who do chart, what determines which tracks show up on that chart and who do you report it to?

I choose whatever tracks are really moving me at the moment. Charts are also a bit political though...It's an avenue to get exposure for yourself and your friends.

OK but are there any companies that you would benefit from reporting your charts to? AKA should you report your charts to anybody in particular? Otherwise, just stick to posting what you play more heavily on your website?

When I do charts, I report to all the major EDM magazines, culture websites that publish charts, as well as whatever labels and artists I'm charting.
