Hey all... I'm new to the tasty fresh forums.
I've had the account for a little while but haven't been on here that much.
Anyway I plan to much much more.

So I just posted a new song that I recorded last week called "Move it".. I'd appreciate some critical feedback if you got any.

You can hear it on my myspace page here:

Also if you're a DJ and you want a free copy of the club mix message me and I'll shoot you the link to the file.
Thanks!

listening:
Overall nice idee.
dont's like de bellsound, it sounds cheap.
The kick could also be a litle more pressent.
the vocal a litle louder.
like the bassound from keep on dancing in the beginning!
and good luck (btw do you sing it yourself?)

peace!

I like it. Partuculary the main melody in the breakdowns.

I agree that the bell sound is not right. Also the high synth stab is a little thin sounding but that might just be personal taste. The bassline could perhaps do with another instrument (very low) playing exaclty the same notes but slightly higher pitch just to back it up when the lowest notes are played. The bass you are using seems to lose a little something on the lowest notes.

Have you or are you doing a 12" mix? and also any chance I could have a go at doing a remix?

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm not going to scrap the "bell" (Celeste) just yet.. I'm a fan of classic british rock and I think it adds a bit of class.. it may just stick out too much.  Probably will sit better with some big room style reverb on it.  I'll play around to see what I come up with.

I have a problem with my current speakers... my bass mixes are always too thin or muddy.
Agree with the bass sound needing a bit more.  Maybe once I get a chance to mix it on better monitors I'll be able to fix the low end situation.
I notice that in a bunch of my songs ... ugh.

@Triple_D... yeah I do all of my own vocals and pretty much resample myself playing all the instruments to do other cool sounds.  Well all vocals accept for the vox sample on "I start rockin" (I think thats one of fatboy slims samples).

@godspeedradio... I plan to release the 12" or club mix as soon as I figure out whats going wrong with the low end of the single.  I've actually created it the 12" mix already but am waiting to release it so I don't have a muddy mix pounding in the clubs.
hmm never had anyone do a remix of one of my songs... I dont see why not.
I'm actually going to buy a bass guitar today.. maybe I'll overdub the live bass.

What kind of format do you use for samples?  I can mix you some rex2 samples or aiff.
Let me know.
