Vehicle issues

As some of you know, my wife's car died about a month ago. Today my truck decided to give me a scare. It broke down on the side of the road on the way to work. The radiator was completely dry due to a major leak in the hose. After paying an enormous towing bill, I paid an enormous repair bill to have the hose in question replaced. As we started to drive off from the shop the truck quickly overheated again and "surprise!" we have a new leak! I don't really wanna go into it, but basically I had to leave the truck overnight at the shop and we got picked up and dropped off at work from one of Crystal's coworkers. Money is real tight for us now and we really can't afford this.
Please pray.

Turns out things are much worse than we thought. I have a blown head gasket and a cracked head. Repairs are looking at $1,500 after taxes. I am at a loss. I just don't know what to do. First Crystal's Saturn and now my truck. We are officially without a vehicle and are borrowing her mom's car. Please pray.

That's NOT a new leak. That is a leak they should have spotted before you pulled out of there. I would fight to have them fix it. Esp if it happened on the way home AFTER you put it in the shop specifically for them to fix a coolant leak.

the problem was their mechanic had already gone home for the day. As far as we knew the upper hose needed to be replaced and the lower was fine. So the tire guy changed out the upper hose like he was told. If I had been better informed of what was going on I would have had him change both. Bottom line is this, my truck needs to get fixed so we can have a vehicle.

Take it back. Make an issue of it. Esp since you now know it was the tire guy not the actual mechanic who did the work. Throw in the bit about you have cancer too.

Good advice!
It's not a bad thing to let them know you have cancer, they need to understand all your money is tied up in medical stuff, and that transportation is very important for you.

yeah, if your head gasket is broke and head is crack, if should of been caught, but since the tire guy looked at it, I would do what Dave mentioned. They should make it right at a discount.
