I didnt want to say anything right away, and I know there far more important things, but this is sorta skary for me. I got a letter in the mail today and it yep it was a stupid juror summons, and I always go to them, cause in compton theyll they dont play around, if they summons you and dont show up, you can be fined. Jury duty sucks, but anyways I am just hoping G-d gets me out of it, because 1) I dont feel comfortable on the buses anymore 2) its compton, and I have had some bad experience with bus stops in the past, so thats one of the reasons why I just dont take the bus anymore. G-d has bailed me out of jury twice before, alot of people showed up, and the first time 2 cases were solved in one day, and the second time, pretty much the same thing but I dont remember how many were solved.
Lastly, I have school too, and jury duty will probably interfere with that, not good. Anyways, I am just looking for a postive outcome. Thanks guys.  hug

you know man, there is a limit to how many times you have to serve in a certain period of time. if you keep getting picked you should check out your state laws. you might be able to get a pass. ive done it before.

hmm, thats interesting, i had it twice recently within a 6-month period Sad

btw mike, generally you can use the fact that you're in school as an excuse and they can dismiss you from serving

Just ask for a letter from your school to say that you need to attend and forward that to the place you need too, same thing works for work here.

Is Jury Duty quite common in the US? I know of only a couple of my Canadian friends who've ever been called on.

I got selected once or twice while in college. If I'm remembering right (that was the late-80s after all Wink), I just let them know I couldn't do it because I was a full-time student.

I had to go in a couple years ago. Basically, I sent about 6 hours sitting in a room reading a Tom Clancy novel. They ran out of cases before my name was selected.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

prayin for ya

hate jury duty

Because I work for a TV station and a Radio Station, they always reject me.

Problem is I try and tell them that over the phone, but they always make me still show up and go through the selection process.  Everytime they ask us all questions, when they ask where I work, and I say "Fox 47" they say dismissed!

Embarrassed I am going to tomorrow in the morning, long story short, i called on sunday and they said my group was supposed to call on monday at 6, I didnt go and I called at 6 no one answered. I called this morning same thing, I forgot how many times I did, anyhow I am going tomorrow in the morning. I am going to take my school paper with me, as proof that I am in school. The reason why I didnt show up is because my group number wasnt called on the phone message that I heard. Thats why I didnt show up on monday. Hope that helps, please keep praying for me, especially because of this I dont wanna get into trouble thats why I am going now, eh I freaking hate jury duty. Well see what happens, wish me luck, thanks again guys.  hug
