If you weren't a threat to the enemy, he wouldn't be fighting you bro. Cold comfort perhaps... but hang in there. God knows. Don't forget it. He weeps when you weep.
Not trying to start a firestorm. Doug, you know I love you with all my heart, bro. And I'm not saying that this is what is happening, but does anyone ever consider this?...
It isn't always satan that turns our life upside down.........
FoJ, what turned Doug's life upside down was a wife who woke up one morning and decided she'd rather play the field than love her husband. She left Doug without a clue and he's notably hurt by this. I know (part) of what's been going on and I don't blame him one bit for taking off. He needs to be with family right now and in this situation he's having to choose between being close to those who can love and support and staying alone so he can be with his kids twice a week. In reality, he needs to find a way to do both. Geographically, that's not possible. Seeing his family will be one of the best things he's done in a while and hopefully will bring stability to his life... or point him toward it.
We're supposed to seek godly counsel, and I think that's what he's trying to do right now. But... still, he just needs to see his family. Next to God, nothing is more important than that and right now, his birth family is pretty much all he's got.
