First off let me say, "Praise God for this place! The only people I know that are into edm are drug addicts and haters of God. They also hate trance, but that's a different story. It's great to meet some fellow believers in Christ!
Anyway, I've been stuffing my anger for a long time and have finally figured out that maybe that's not such a good idea. Even Jesus shared his anger, although he did it without sin.
How do you guys deal with your anger? I used to skateboard when I needed to release some energy or frustration. Although, sometimes that made me more angry because I could never land the trick I was trying to get (lol). I used to play in bands but they told me I had to play how and what they wanted me to play. Screw that. So now I pick up a laptop, some recording software, and a couple cdj's. I live in a clausterphobic apartment were I have to live in a wisper so that sucks for djing and recording (vocals and guitar anyway).
I look out at the world and see "the man" having a muzzle put on him. No wonder so many men have anger problems.
I could keep going and going but I will close now. I would like to hear about some of your anger problems and how you deal with them. I also would like some prayer on the matter. I want to be angry like Jesus is angry not like a fool is angry.
Blessings in Christ!

the coolest thing about soundboarding (djing), unlike surfing or skateboarding, is that you can give other people a ride rather than just yourself.

usually go punch on the bag a bit or put on some trance.  Friend of mine likes to go driving too.  But lately, been hard to deal with for me, working on it though.

I still skate, bmx and roller balde.  I know what you mean about not landing things.  Riding is about my only release.  I guess you just have to learn to pray about it right away.  Ask God to help you to let the anger go.  It's hard for all of us.  You got my prayers.

I use to take my anger out on wii boxing.... It got boring a lil quick for me. So, I decided to just plain exercise. I crank the Drum n Bass in my garage, or I crank my mp3 player and just dance or work out. I use a glowstick on a rope, and after a while, hitting yourself with a glowstick usually helps... laugh

If its something that you can work out, like a situatuion with someone, better off to get it taken care of right away, rather than putting it off. The longer you hold out, the bigger it grows.

I have come to realize that human beings are a spirit trapped in a bio-chemical machine.  This machine is run and influenced by the chemicals in our bodies.  If there is something that you eat or drink that makes you feel crappy, or angry or whatever, it is chemicals doing stuff to your brain.  In the same way, emotions are chemical changes in your brain so for the Christian it is often difficult to weigh what you know to be the truth against the raging sea of chemical urges.  I therefore take the advice of scripture and "take every thought (and emotion) captive" and evaluate it against what I know to be the truth in God's word.

Since the body is a chemical machine I also find it helpful to seek chemical satisfaction when possible.  Obviously, as a believer, I seek to do this in righteousness.  The endorphins that provide relief can be found in exercise, exposure to sunlight, sexual release (in the bounds of righteousness) and, believe it or not, video games.  There is nothing like a round of Unreal Tournament to make me feel all better.  Grin

In addition, realizing that Jesus, the Messiah, the King of the Universe, is literally at your side at all times is a huge help.  Speak with Him.  As the scriptures say, "Pray without ceasing."  Just having an honest conversation with your savior is real attitude changer.  Acknowledge your feelings, talk over the situation, and don't be surprised when the Holy Spirit puts a calming and compassionate thought in your mind.  The bottom line is that your feelings can be made subject to truth so long as you acknowledge them, and address them in a righteous way.  Peace bros.

^^ good answer.

I just got back from punching on the punching bag.  I got mad at work today and coming home, i just went and did that and exercise like AH said helps release chemicals and plus it wears ya out.  By the time I was done, my tiredness and chemical releases took it off my mind. Cool

Yeah I totally agree with you on the "we are spirits trapped in a bio-chemical machine" thing. That in itself helps me out alot, once I begin to re-remember it.  laugh Just like alot of truths in God's word... We have soo many blessings and healings and such already birthed in us, at the time of our spiritual birth... We only need to take in what he has already done for us, and be set free from whatever ails us. Thank you bro, I even needed that today. Smiley  hug

I think its clear as a Christian you need to manage your emotions as well, emotion can take you over.  You can't be angry at society, job, life etc, and share the good news or be it.  I've found that positive (intnetional) thinking can really transform your life, and gets at the root at times of why the anger is there.  Being angry is a part of life at times, but I think its what we do with it that can show who we are.  I defo agree with the post above about excercising and eating right, having some healthy outlets is a must.

Blowing stuff up X2  Cool Tongue

I feel your pain.. I've always delt with feelings of anger when I was younger. It resulted in many fights and a trouble-maker reputation. I always remind myself that anger is temporary but the decisions you make you must live with FOREVER.

Keeping anger in your heart slowly starts to eat away at who you are and what you believe in. What consumes you defines you.

For me personally my biggest ally for stress relieving is running. While i'm running I have the chance to think about my anger and every possible outcome/course of action. Just really hash it out with yourself. By the time i'm tired, i'm ready to let the feelings go too.

I'll pray for you.. Good Luck Wink Cool

Lot's of good stuff on here. Thanks guys.
God's been bringing to my attention, "balance". A lot of what you guys are saying falls in line with that. I've been driving semi long haul for the past few years and I've let it take over my life. I've been getting angry because i'm always stuck behind the wheel. I've stopped exercising, my nutrition is summed up in a big mac, drink too much coffee, smoke too many cigarettes. Is it my jobs fault? No... I just need to stand up to my boss and not let them push me around and make time for exercise, make time for more nutritious food, and make time for SLEEP so I don't force myself to stay awake with 30 gallons of coffee. I could go on and on but I won't. Talking on here helps too. Thanks guys.

You're off to a good start. Yeah, sometimes I'll do some kind of exercising to get anger out or listen to hardcore. I mostly stuff my anger too. Drumming works too.

One thing you can do, if you're the only one in your room or your roommate doesn't mind, is get a bunch of old mattresses that no one wants and put them along the entire inside of your room against the walls. This is a great way to sound proof it so you can make more noise for when you DJ and record. (it might give you better recordings too)

^^yeah, that's a good idea. I've been thinkin of doin something like that. Thanks. I'm also starting to look for houses to rent. With school getting out I'm hoping there'll be some out there for grabs. Then I'd like to start up a groove collective and get some other believers over to jam and bar-b-que and read the Bible. That would be sweet. I'm also pulling the skateboard outta the closet and pumping the tires on the bmx. Thanks for prayin guys... God's really workin on me here.
