I'm actually glad that the auto sync feature, on any dj software, is fail. I rather take the time to manually beat match, because I actually have to play fast music just to keep from getting bored with beat matching.... BTW, cueing and beat matching w/o headphones is very hard, even with digital dj software, It's a challenge in itself.
Basically, I could have the easiest setup in the world, and I'd still find a way to make it challenging  laugh

actually, i find that cueing and such without headphones is fairly easy with traktor.
beatmatching each track is really annoying, unless you are super good at it, you dont seem to have time to really pay attention to the flow of the night and such.

It's pretty good with the BPM, but doesn't align the tracks properly. I adjust it every time.

lol... but see, this is my point about right of passage. Other DJs have been learning this for years, and once they master it, they can do it so fast. And then they can graduate to the dance floor.

I'm all for the digital revolution, and I've started playing with Traktor and I quite like it. But I'll be honest when I say I have to get over prejudice regarding DJs who've never learned to beatmatch.

Setup a beat grid, and it will. Slave the deck to the master clock and you'll never have to beatmatch.

Like I said... set up a beat grid. That's the solution.

it's easier to set than warp markers though. You basically set a cue point on a repetitive beat/sound and then in the cue edit, make it a beatgrid marker and the name it. Once that's  done, it's just a matter of verifying the bpm and setting that. It's fairly fast and easy. You can do that in a quarter to half the time it takes to warp a track.

If you don't slave the deck or hit the sync button, you can still manually beatmatch the track to another deck. Once you do that, it should stay in sync until you mix out of the original track.

Interesting to know that sasha has to still beat match to mix into the end of Johns sets.

Ive always just faded in!

I remain a fan of turning off the turntable for a brutal protracted farewell to the previous DJ.  Depends on the style though. Haha, I was playing with some other Tasty members in Toronto and the DJ before me (Fezzik) ended with the track I was planning on starting with. Foisted!
