we need to pray for our economy.

Things are really getting nasty in Portland.  The big companies are getting coming down hard on the little guys.
There have been a number of stings here. A number of my friends have got fined.

First problem is in moving- unfortunately this industry is regulated way too much. The large companies have made a monopoly allowing no one to get in their way. A number of us are looking into hiring a lawyer and taking these laws down, but it cant happen fast enough.

I started my company without insurance, workers comp etc. Now I have everything the state allows me to get. I would not be where I am now if this would have happened then. It really sucks that the govt is picking on those who need the most help.

Word on the street is the next sting is about workers comp- which I have thank GOD!

They are also cracking down on contractors- which is good sometimes but I have heard a lot of stories of average joe who just wanted to do one job to in between jobs and ended up with a $5000 fine.

The thing about contractors is that anyone can get a license even those unqualified. All they have to do is pay the fees and get insurance. Qualified movers will get denied.  There is over 2000 movers in Portland, only about 30 have full authority. That is a bunch of crap!
