Hey I just got 2 CDJ's (stanton c314's) and my vestex is on the fritz.  Its time for a new one....I think!?  The Vestex is old and now when I hook the CDJ's up one sounds alot clearer then the other.  I think I ay have wires loose or somthing, either way.....I can only use 1 CDJ.  So here is what I want to be able to do (if possible).  I want to be able to hook up both CDJ's and a 1200.  I don't know if you can play all 3 at once but that is the freedom I am looking for. also a BPM counter is always a plus

As far as price...I spent all my $ the Stanton's so the cheaper the better, but I stiil want quality.....Any ideas?

how many channels are you looking for? I would always say pioneer but thats just me. Built in bpm and lots of effects and options. But they usually run high but not too bad. I have the 2 channel and its amazing. I got it for roughly 550. But than again you may not want that. Just giving you options  Cool

yeah, you can play all three at once, don't know why, but at least you have a channel for each player.  I'm not a big fan of Behringer, don't think its good quality.  Considering your budget though, that would do what you need.

if youre going for quality.... anything Vestax, Pioneer, Numark for that ol skool analog feel or The new Korg's... I had the behringer 700 for quite some time, worked very well, especially for the buck. If I had to narrow it down to 2, then either pioneer, or numark, Pioneer being at the top...Eventually I'll get another mixer with tables, right now I am content with my Xponent.

I'd say Numark. I think their quality/price threshold is the best.

Probably for the money a numark or vestax is best bang for the buck, behringers are cheap and they sound, feel, and perform cheaply. I completely disagree with you on the Pioneer ecliptik. They are probably the poorest quality of components for the price you will pay for them. If you want the effects, bells and whistles.. get an external processor because the effects on the Pioneers are horrendous. If you are going to spend that kind of money, get a quality mixer like a Rane, Urei, Allen and Heath, or an Ecler. I hear the new Pioneer 800 has some improvements, but the 500 and 600 are junk as far as quality is concerned.

The Pioneer DJM 500 and 800 have been industry standard for years. That's been changing recently due to DJs wanting more and other brands coming on strong, but they got there for a reason. DJM for the win.

Not really sayin a whole lot to back up your argument pudd.

Here is what I know... if you want to talk about an industry standard, then it's the Rane MP24. Pioneer doesn't even come close as they just even came on the scene in the last 7 or 8 years (don't quote me on the time, but they certainly haven't been around nearly as long as Rane or Urei has) Rane MP24's from the 80's are still running strong in some clubs and the output sound quality is far superior to Pioneer, as a matter of fact the Rane MP24 has been in existence since 1986.. longer than any other mixer currently in production. Why do you think that is? Not to mention the power of the headphone driver, sharp eq's, and the fact that they are linear mixers (you bring the mix in and it is exactly where it is supposed to be on the fader, not slurring in the mix as is typical with Pioneers and other lower quality mixers). The Urei rotary mixers were used in the disco clubs in the late 70's and they are still using the same design technics for a lot of them. Anyone that has attempted to replace a fader or dial on a Pioneer can attest to the fact that the quality is flat out cheap, why do you think the faders break so easily and people are replacing them all the time?? You don't hear about these issues with the other brands I mentioned, because they are quality and built to last. Is there any question why Pioneer keeps "upgrading" their mixer? I can answer that, because they STILL haven't gotten it right. I challenge you to find a DJ that has played on all the brands of mixers I listed and have them say any of these are not of superior sound quality, design, and construction than any Pioneer. Like I mentioned, you want the bells and whistles like the flanger, filter, blah blah.. get an external processor, yes the Pioneers come with these effects.. and the quality on the effects is just as poor as the rest of the thing.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you are going to spend the money then do some research and you will find out what is what. Pioneers should go for about $300-400, they are way overpriced in my opinion
