From what I understand, you almost have to go through some aggregator/distributor now. At the very least, you have to start a label up.

itunes isnt that difficult from what i understand, beatport might be different, but im not sure.

you need an aggregator for the most part usually for both. Some people get on without one, but its not that easy really right now.

Its tricky to get on with the distros - at the moment i do it all myself which takes ages. im looking at using tunecore too to get on itunes - in 3eps im signing up with a distro to sort out everything but stompy, since thats where i make the majority of my money : )
