but regardless, it's not a magic fix-all. its useless if your recording is not good.

Yeah Melodyne is probably the best pitch correction/ editor on the market. Its not a studio though, its an audio editor. I don't have it, but many engineers use it. Its not something you'll be creating tunes with.
