If anyone uses Torq Xponent....
«

I have a question.... it seems after a while of use, some of the knobs and buttons take control of different things now, and they dont want to do what theyre supposed to do. like the left gain knob now controls the crossfader, and so forth....and another thing, the cue buttons at the top arent working, so I cant really cue my music up like I need to. Any help is well appreciated.

sounds like a driver issue or... some memory leak. Have you rebooted recently?

actually, I closed the program, turned off the unit cause it runs on AC power... after a few minutes I turned it back on, restarted torq, and it works fine now.....I may need a cooling plate for my xponent......lol IDK, still trying to figure it out. I made a set for DGK's new show for tomorrow....if he decides to play it, you'll hear me using the Xponent....Ive only played with it for a few hours, so glitches will be expected, I think.
Im running it off my mom's Dual Core Pentium 1.6GHZ 1G ram, you figure that would give it enough power....without a video card? .....just barely.

I've noticed a couple of times the controls on my xponent have either stopped working or changed what they control. If you click the shift button or midi button by accident this can happen. Not sure if this is the same as what you were talking about though. Sometimes looking in preferences can help.

It's looking more and more like I won't be switching to anything like that for Traktor. My Novation is working fine. I just need to tweak the controls so it runs only 2 decks rather than 4.

Figured it out! I assigned controls hitting the Shift key by accident. Everything works fine....all I need to do now Is invest in my own laptop.

Your not alone! I've actually made this mistake too! You just have to hit the prefs. and hit the 'Reset' mappings button (last tab I believe). It causes 0 hiccups even during a set. The Right-Click + Shift combo is extremely useful for remapping buttons on the fly since there's tons of useful functions in Torq. (Remapping F1, F2 deck keys to Quick-scratch 1/2 buttons on xponent to replace drag/drop for example)

oh and im soo glad that the autosync feature doesnt work with Drum N Bass...
sometimes when it reads tracks more than once, it changes the original bpm by half...
Just gives me another reason not to even bother using that function. Besides. I love to beatmatch, manually

There's a fix for that!!!
If you modify a single value in the TorqEngine.prefs file, BPM detection can improve for paced DnB
Look for this setting (around line 26)
minBeatDetectionBPM:60
..increase this value to 70
Try increasing this in 10BPM increments to experiment. (70 works for me and I predominantly mix DnB)
You will have to reanalyze your files in order to test this. Try it on one or two and compare the difference.
If all else fails you can actually manually edit the BPM tags of your songs (not fun) or... Map a button to double the tempo (fun-er! lol)
