"Death Of The Dream" - R.I.P. ~ 1941-2007

It also helps that both films have the exact same Director. Tongue

WOW! He does have rather long list of bad films.

Interestingly...

# "Stargate SG-1" (1 episode, 1997)
... aka Porte des étoiles, La (Canada: French title: dubbed version)
    - Children of the Gods (1997) TV episode (motion picture characters) (uncredited)

So... Um... the original idea for the goulds being snakes was well... pushed in part by the movie's original director huh?Huh

Take a second look. It says "Motion Picture Characters" in parenthesis.
This means he's only responsible for the characters originally used in the film for which the TV Series is based on.

I didn't mean that they were the same quality-wise; just that they had very similar elements, right down to the deep-voiced four-legged demon/Jaffa and deep-voiced "god." And to me at least, it seemed like Emmerich was just recycling some of his previous ideas.

Yeah he did borrow from Stargate, that's true.

He didn't just borrow from his films though, he borrowed from other peoples too!

1) Spear throw at the end was very "300"

2) old lady and special child is Clan of the Cave Bear

3) kidnapping of his people, and following the kidnappers, and a lot of other stuff is very Apocalypto.

V for Vendetta and The Matrix are two completely different films. Not to mention that one protagonist uses guns (primarily in the first Matrix film) while the other uses knives (which don't need bullets Wink ).

Yep, that was my point, same people, but two very different films.

Oh, yeah. The 300 reference. I noticed that too, but had forgotten about it.
The whole "humbling oneself before your enemy; shocking everyone who has been fighting for you; then using that to stage a surprise attack" strategy.
