I didn't mean that they were the same quality-wise; just that they had very similar elements, right down to the deep-voiced four-legged demon/Jaffa and deep-voiced "god." And to me at least, it seemed like Emmerich was just recycling some of his previous ideas.
Yeah he did borrow from Stargate, that's true.
He didn't just borrow from his films though, he borrowed from other peoples too!
1) Spear throw at the end was very "300"
2) old lady and special child is Clan of the Cave Bear
3) kidnapping of his people, and following the kidnappers, and a lot of other stuff is very Apocalypto.
V for Vendetta and The Matrix are two
completely different films. Not to mention that one protagonist uses guns (primarily in the first Matrix film) while the other uses knives (which don't need bullets
