Then there's the ultimate one: If you are active in the secular scene and you want to play Cstone and get more connected with Christians who love dance music, you get priority.

This year, we have 2 people in our line-up that fit this bill and that changed a LOT of what we wanted to do.

sounds good.

I can tell you one thing about the generator stage....

If you want to play Afterhours next year; it is going to be a good place to audition.  You will be DJing in front of the judges who determine next years lineup.  If you want to play next year...about the best place to show them what you really got is to impress us live and in person.

If you can Dj on a dusty road and rock out in front the passerbyers, then you are probably going to have what it takes to do Afterhours.  This is not the only way to get booked, but heck..impress us.  Cornerstone's dance stage is so interesting to me as it is probably the festival's most unknown artist stage.  The barn, as it was once known has a sense to the people who show up to dance as... who is the guy spinning...ahhhhh who cares... do I like the music.  It is the judges responsiblility to provide that music thru selecting the proper music-selectors; ie DJs.

I would love to see a DJ take this as a challenge and impress ME personally.  I personally would look harder at YOU next year if you PERSONALLY rock my socks off (I will not be wearing socks all week), but seriously take this as a challenge.

And thats something I was sharing with DGK a few days ago... I remember when I first attempted to play at a club in downtown Tampa. I sent them a demo online like a few weeks in advance and said that I was interested and wanted to check you guys out anyways. After arriving and talking with them for a while, I asked them if they would let me play.... Of course I got a response that I wasnt expecting "do you have a demo?" I said, "I sent you guys a link to be able to download my demo like a few weeks in advance"
Obviously, they were too drunk to remember that, and so which brings me to my next point....I needed something like a CD that I could hand to them so they could either check it out in their car or something like that. Really and truthfully, no one is going to roll out a red carpet for you just because you say that you got your vinyl with you and you have all this past DJ experience. They do need something, preferably in their hand or something LIVE, like doug said, to AUDITION!
In all honesty, I do believe I perform very well OUTSIDE rather than INSIDE....well, I usually have lights, so, no lights will really bring a great challenge to myself. I don't know what I will do about equipment, since I just sold my tables last week, so I might just end up converting vinyl to digital for now. Either way, I'm still going to CS this year.

Basically if you sent a demo in for afterhours then you are welcome to spin @ the generator stage.  I did not hear any demos submitted (properly or improperly) that wouldn't be able to rock it out nicely @ the Afterhours Generator Stage  All the information is coming in the article in the new zine that is actually coming out early next week.  So yeah in a couple days.

I will say this...the lineup for the generator stage will be very fun.

all info is coming real soon...

As I mentioned to Doug in an e-mail I sent him, if they'll allow it, I'm willing to provide my 1210's for people to use.

Thats cool... When i read that i was like "WHAT THA!?!"

I guess they are just afraid of the "real" DJs showing them up.  Shocked   did i just say that?  Tongue
