ok, well after playing with ACID Xpress 5 for two days I made and "published" my first song. It is very limited, I dont know how to change the length or use just pieces of the loops yet and it is limited to 10 tracks but it was fun. However, it feels like making a piece of art with clip art and calling it mine.  Kinda feels like plagiarism, but I digress...

So give a listen if you have time and tell me to stop clogging up the worlds air with my useless talent or encourage me to continue..lol thanks

yes exactly. I felt the same way when I first started producing with Acid. I stopped before I had one finished. Then I took a shower and cleansed myself of the guilty.  Wink

Honestly, I haven't listened to it yet because I am at work with no speakers, but I am sure it will be ok.

Honestly, when you're starting, mixing pre-made loops can be the perfect learning tool. When it comes to producing structure and composition make up a big part of a tune, and learning to arrange a set of loops will help you learn how to do that the best way possible! Once you get that idea down, and you produce more and more, you'll get this hunger for more. That's when you start finding out about sequencers, VSTs, samplers and all that fun stuff. So don't worry, no harm in starting with loops  Smiley

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

Here's the very first one I did. I wasn't going to post it because all I did was delete the original song arrangement and do my own with the loops already in place but hey, I did arrange it so here it is. The other one I posted first I picked the loops from various places I found and arranged it so I felt a little less guilty about that one..anyway I am rambling...

Pretty good first attempt i reckon.

I still use ACID pro - mainly cos i got stuck in a production rut, and it does pretty much everything i want it to..........

Biggest thing about using ACID for stuff is to get the best quality samples you can get your hands on - then its really starts going somewhere.

ok, I made a lame myspace page so I could upload the song. I put a link to it in the bottom of my signature.
