I don't know if this qualifies as dance music but I wanted to share it with you guys. It's hip-hop of a more ballad variety. Just a month ago I got in on a really great conversation on here, which resulted in God helping me conquer a really evil online addiction that I've had. I was writing a paper for seminary on Isaiah 6 and it hit me how this verse was about me. I got up in the pulpit during testimony time about 2 weeks ago and went off on it. This is my hip-hop version of my sermon about it. We are chosen because we are broken.
God bless, Morgan

No problema, Abraham.

Isaiah 6 – Clean My Heart With Fire [lyrics]

[First part: reading of Isaiah 6:1-8 New Revised Standard Version]

Woe is me, I am completely lost;
I didn’t take the time to evaluate the cost;
I’ve been unclean in ways that only you have seen;
Exploiting your love; since you are the gentlest of kings;
How can I say that I deserve to wear your signet ring;
I’m covered in filth; the air of my room is foul and obscene;
I know that apart from you I can’t do anything;
How far does that mean I’ve strayed that I keep on doing the darkest of things?
Thought I’d left my sinful ways at the cross,
but they keep on coming back up from the grave;
Did you hand me over to Satan that I could be saved?
You set me free; why do I keep on trying my best to remain a slave?
Have mercy on me and my lack of faith.
With all that you’ve shown me, how can I still not understand?
With all that you’ve told me, why do I only obey my own commands?
Your grace is so hard to take; I want your reprimand.
And so my heart is fat and my mind is thick;
I took advantage of you and now I just feel sick;
I know that you don’t want to take me out of the game on account of my shame;
That’s why you took the blame and gave me a new name;
Help me to live out the salvation that I claim;
Make my life a gospel I can proclaim.

I need you to clean my heart with fire;
Burn away the lust; restore my desire. X 2

I don’t want to do what I do; I do not do what I want to be;
So easily coaxed into sin; only knowing I’m yours by the way that you haunt me;
And how the demons laugh and try to taunt me;
They know that my soul is not theirs to steal;
I’d like to think that you let me fall so that I can all the better heal;
So there’d be no doubt in my mind that the evil one is real;
And I’d know your grace every time that I kneel;
So I would thank you in words that I would really feel;
You anointed me, but I keep on trying to rub off the seal;
Burn away the worm that makes my soul its daily meal.
I know that I’m already free; but it’s still not yet that I all the way believe;
You gave your blood so my heart wouldn’t have to bleed;
I have not risen yet though you rolled away the stone away for me;
I nail myself to desert trees; the vultures come and start to feed;
Send down your lightning; burn away my withered leaves;
So I can start again; my stump shall be your holy seed.

And I shall be a desert altar to your mercy that you use me in spite of all
And I shall be a desert altar to your power that is made perfect in my weakness
And I shall be a desert altar to your grace that allows me to love myself sinner that I am.
My stump shall be your hold seed
Clear away the branches that you may grow in me
For I want to be more of you and less of me.

I need you to clean my heart with fire;
Burn away the lust and restore my desire. X 2

it's simple. very nice. could use some development and maybe some (musical) relevance to today's hip-hop culture if you plan to use to to reach today's inner city. I really like it though.

Great lyrics bro  Cool
Thanks =) Now i understand more the track  laugh
IMHO about the music:
1. the snare sounds very tick, i would like it with more snap and low freqs..
2. for more energy why dont use a bass, maybe just a bass that marks the change of the notes, i repeat these are comments of my own opinion according to what i like, the track is fine  Cool

I like the flow.. some comments here really make sense Smiley
(about bass and snares and so)

one problem: hiphoppers do often hate synths (I don't Tongue)
