Really? Hmm... I wonder if it's a model issue. My friend got Apple to acknowledge the issue, they just wouldn't do anything about it, so maybe only certain versions of the MBP are affected.

When you all first started talking about Traktor I tried it and it was {mmm...tasty}. I didn't like it at all.

But.... I've been playing with it this week and I think it's the way forward for me... with time code records of course. You can take the boy away from the vinyl, but you can never...

I went from traktor to ableton back to traktor...  I like the more "on-the-fly" abilities of traktor...  I don't mind warping tracks on the fly but chopping them up into chunks and not being able to really cue up a track on the fly and such made it hard for me to really enjoy using ableton...  I love the ability to build my own effects, add live instruments and such on top of tracks, and keep many tracks in sync and such but traktor works much better for me when it comes to djing... most of the time I am only playing 2 tracks at a time anyway   laugh

For Ableton, you've got to take it all the way, like Shane 54. Get all the remix packages you can, and build your own music using Ableton that way.

scratch is great, but for me, the money isnt worth it.
i use traktor in a way that scratch is totally useless (looping and effects, i use beatgrids and rarely beatmatch anymore).

Has anyone ever tested the BCD3000? This one looks like all I'll ever need.

Deeflash, 404, Godlovesmaggots all have been using the BCD2000.
Actually I never could get the thing to work. I assume it is because of my laptop being a bottom of the line thing with little power. Heck this laptop has issues just playing RealPlayer.

When my new lappy arrives, I will install the BCD3000 on it and see if it works for me and if I like it.

I had the BCD2000 until I sold it and got the VCI-100...  it is a pretty good controller to start out with.  It is pretty solid and works well.  I only wanted to get something that had touch sensitive jog wheels. :-)
