I am confused
I am trying to decide which route to go.
There are many choices now.
I understand that Serato is the industry standard but what about the others. Are they any good?
I have been reading about
Mixvibes DVS Pro Vinyl Scratch Software Package
NI TRAKTOR 3 DJ Software
Numark Cue Pro DJ Software With Video Mixing
M-Audio CONECTIV-KIT DJ Software W/ CD And Vinyl
PCDJ-Reflex DJ Software With Time Code Vinyl
Help!!! I want to make a good decision.

1) download all of the demos and try it out yourself first.
2) None of those will do very well if you don't have a good controller first.
3) If you get a system like the berhinger that Chris just bought from Chris, you'll get demos of a few of those programs that are set up for that controller.
4) Unless you just need the feel of vinyl or scratch, don't bother with a "scratch" based solution and buy a normal DJ midi controller like the Numark Total Control of Vestax VCI-100.
Numark's Total Control and Traktor are what I'll be buying. The layout on the TC fits best in my mind of how things should work for now. Traktor is a golden standard. It's not going anywhere, it's simple, it's flexible. The downsides to it are 1) there isn't a built in sampler and 2) it can't utilize vst plugins for fx. Outside of that, it's golden.

x2 on what dave said.
also, dont even think of numarks software... i REALLY hate cue... with the exception of how they present the waveforms. they overlap them. cool, but the rest of the program is not very intuitive i think.

I have Serato and I like it a lot. It's very simple to use. And I can scratch like a baboon that fell into a vat of itching powder.
My bro just bought traktor scratch. I haven't played on it yet but it has lots of effects. I'm not really interested in those. It does allow you to use more than two turntables (that's cool). But how often do you use more than two turntables? I like having an extra but I don't have to have it. Just to show off.
I think that serato got big by making a user friendly program that had the bugs worked out of it unlike the first final scratch programs. Traktor and Stanton had stuff to work out and Serato came on the scene big with a solid program. I have a feeling now that Traktor got away from Stanton they have come back strong saying "We are the Champion's"!
*It bugs me not to have the best on the market. But I am satisfied with the quality of Serato.

Well Dave made some good points. I ended up buying traktor, but I have turntables so it gives me the opportunity to use those well, or I can make mixes sitting in my living room with 3.3 and my headphones. I will say that Serato is very limited and doesn't work for a modern set up, but it works quite well for tradtional mixing, and is more stable in that regard than traktor.
To talk about the non sampling, you can record audio, loops or whateer on the fly in traktor and instantly drag them into the deck, so its not a sampler, but it does give you some flexibility for some unique audio creativity. Having the four decks you can fire off loops, hits, or whatever, and still keep a mix going. I'm with Dave on the controller, its the way forward. I don't get vibe like I do on turntables, but the controller opens up a new world of performance...been impressed with traktor so far, but ocassionally its buggy, but very little

I would get the one that you like the interface the most. Also if you want vinyl control or Midi controller control. If vinyl Traktor or Serato is good. If midi controller, Traktor is the best. Only thing, if you have a older laptop or one with 1.1 ports, then Serato would probably be the best for you.

that is because Final Scratch was the first ever of that type of program. When NI joined, they improved it and re-released under 1.5 and 2.0. Course I don't know who broke the agreement, if NI, I can understand, they were wanting to push Traktor.

I use traktor and I love it... the features and little tricks you can do with it are what makes it amazing... if you really want to get fancy you've got 4 decks which sync up to a master clock to keep everything in time... the effects sound really great once you get the hang of them... the eq's on the internal mixer sound good, you can have high, mid hi, mid low, low all with cuts... the collection management is very good ... easy to maintain and easy to read.. if you want to search for a track in a specific BPM you can just search for $BPM = 130 and it will bring up pretty much everything between 127-134... it's been very stable for me.. doug and I used it for 4 hours straight last month switching between internal sources and external sources ... I've used it up to 7 hours straight with no glitches or bugs... the only times I had problems it was the controller and not traktor...
but yeah like Dave said, get some demos and try 'em out... the VCI-100 comes iwth Traktor LE and the BCD3000 also comes with Traktor LE I believe..

It's one of the options on the screen. ABS, then Rel, then Int.

I'm lost. Do I have to have a control in order to go to internal mode.
Here is the screenshot of what I am seeing on my desktop.

Do you have the interface that comes with it or did you just get the program off somebody? It looks like you don't have the interface hooked up.

This:
No matter what software you buy, you'll need some sort of audio interface with it.
