My last post on the Christian Market thread was kind of OT, so I'll rectify with this short summary of my life.  Maybe some of you will relate.

VJ at 8 years old:  ooh, that music on the radio, I LIKE the BEAT.

VJ at 11: metal is cool, but that Catholic lady down the street told me I am going to hell, and my protestant pastor never talks about music... now I'm confused AND going to hell.

VJ at 13: all this hell talk is starting to piss me off, and God is sick in the head for abusing Jesus like that anyway.

VJ at 15: skinheads suck, metal is for people who never got over Dungeons and Dragons, and although its not very punk and I wanna be punk rock, I STILL like BEATS

VJ at 18: when punks, rappers, skinheads, gangsters, and metalheads take E, THEY like beats too, so much so in fact, they stop fighting for 6 hours and dance.  I like THAT, I think I'll take E.

VJ at 19: I am DJing with world class talent twice a week, and they all take harder drugs, it must be the way.

VJ at 23:  OUCH, I have one heck of a hangover.  Where's Jesus?

VJ at 26:  OH, there He is!!!

VJ at 28:  wait, at least I thought He was here...  oh he IS here, but you are here too, along with the Catholic-anti-metal lady and my old Protestant Pastor.  She is still anti-metal, He still won't address music, and someone wants me to buy this christian techno album that doesnt sound quite right.  I still like beats.

VJ at 29:  I'm a christian now, I know that.  Who would I be if I didn't like beats? who am I?

VJ at 30:  Dammit, I still like beats.  I feel unholy.

VJ at 32:  I'm married, jaded with Church, and still filled with unholy beats.

VJ at present:  I give up, I like beats.  God is sovereign, I assume he made me this way.  For some reason Christendom is 30 years behind secular music culture.  I will live in a musical dichotomy and I am OK with that, Jesus is with me.

Can anyone relate?

Am I the only one who's life consists of daily questions and discovery?

I am not being sarcastic or rhetorical with these questions.  I am interesting in hearing a step-by-step, cartoon-short type synopsis of some of y'alls lives with God and music.

Keep it humble and humorous, and this could really encourage me right now.  I have struggled a lot lately and just want to relate.

Brendan Manning said that "God loves stories, thats why He created all of us, so we can tell Him our story..."

Let's start with a storyboard.
