I am working on sliming down my budget abit and my friend here in the states wants to pay for my mobile phone, but i have some questions. are there any TFers who work for mobile phone companies or something like that? i need to run some numbers so i can get him some initial figures.

I might be able to get you a deal where you get £150 cashback to offset your tariff by £10/month for 15 months, then you can come back again we'll buy you out of the rest of the contract and set you on a new one.

I'd recommend Vodafone in the UK for best service. then 02, 3, orange and last of all t-mobile.

If you were to go with a Nokia 6300 on Vodafone £35/month you'd get 500minutes + 1000 texts. Or on O2 £45 - 1200mins + 500 txts - but we'd give you cash to knock it down to £35 for the first 15 months.
