Club Truth is officially closed until further notice. We apologize if this is the first time you are hearing of this. We believe that God is always in control and if/when he leads us to re-open we will. But until then, we thank everyone on our team: Kenny, Nicole, Amanda, Chris V., Alec, Raver Wong, Abbi & Maggie, for their hard work, time and dedication. A special thanks to our guest DJs: Jeff from Club Worship, Frankie Vibe from NJ and Doug Theodore from GA. We would also like to thank everyone who has supported us and prayed for the club. We have enjoyed the journey and look forward to what God has planned for next!

 Sad

Can we ask what happened? If you'd rather not get into it, I understand. Just sort of shock and surprised. And bummed.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

Honestly? Probably because our model has been wrong. Well... not in the UG's case, but they had stopped doing dance events years ago.

For us we did not have the support or help we needed to successfully pull off our events.  Plus we were not generating the amount of interest we were looking for.  And we also found that it was very hard to generate interest from other Churches and Youth Groups.

Mainly, it was getting very hard to introduce something new to the area without having a good amount of people there to introduce it with us.  If we had a good core of 10-20 people there to kinda set an example of simple things like, how to dance to dance music, how to just have fun in a club atmosphere, etc... It would have probably hooked up.

Instead we were getting either really young crowds (ages 10-13) that would sit because they were too embarrassed to step out on the floor and would stay in their own little cliques or we would get older groups that would come in early and see no one else there and leave.

We had multiple occasions where a group would come in early (right at start of the event) and see no one there yet and rather than stay the night, leave.  Then right after they leave another group comes in, looks around and leaves... etc...   If we had a good core group of 10 - 20 people that was there from the start all the groups would stay and then rather than have 5 people come and leave and 5 more people come and leave and then 5 more people come and leave, we'd have 15 new people stay and come back next time...

It's really disappointing for both Jess and me and those who were consistently helping us but it is not the right timing for now it seems.
