I'm at a fork guys. Right now I'm going to college and getting a degree in computer science. Its awesome that i have the chance to and better my life with a higher education. But as of these last couple of weeks it feels like god is calling me to produce and DJ. Everything i could possible want is falling into place. Friends, mixes, equipment, and future gigs. I need to decide if I'm really going to turn this hobby into a life long career. I know it will take a lot of work and it wont be easy, but i can do all through Christ who strengthens me. Its just hard since living in Kansas and one in a thousand around me knows my passion for electronic dance music. I will have to step out of my comfort zone and really reach out to those with God. Please pray for me. Any suggestions would be awesome.

ok... i am gonna be real honest here. About 1 in 50,000 club djs make enough money to have that be their full time job. Good locals who are residents at clubs and those who make frequent appearances are working full or part time as well as doing club nights.
Example...
the city of Atlanta has basically 3-6 DJs who the residents at the biggest clubs. I know for a fact that 2 of them work full-time jobs as well.
Someone you think on beatport that produces banging tracks and you believe is making it really is a starving artist.
also...
keep in mind that as far as touring...
THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN TOUR IS OFF HITS. Seriously. DJs are not going to rise up and tour nationally because of their track selection or their beatmatching. You have to pop into a new town with tracks that the audience recognizes as yours. Touring and the circuit happens because of hits by the producers/djs themselves. Seriously you maybe can name like on one hand the guys who are touring who have not had a hit in a decade...
Stay in school and dj and produce in your free time. Maybe you have a sound that is marketable to the masses (fatboyslim, axwell, tocadisco, ferry c., above&beyond...) and you can make a hit. Until then hit the books and produce in your house and shop tracks you make to labels. Find good DJs who can listen to your tracks and give you helpful, good feedback.
just my sense or lack of it.

^ wisdom.
the old saying "don't quit your day job" is doubly true here. Even Judge Jules has a day job.

even if you do get that thing goin and make enough to keep you fed, odds are that it will one day dry up and you will need to be prepared to get a job that will pay enough to keep you fed.

one thing to add to that is that if you are already in progress of school, then finish it. its much harder to go back when you are older.
