Just to stay on topic...

I am redoing what I have done so far in the remix, so far I have the first minute. I don't like to make songs needlessly long, so I'm thinking that 3:30 to 4:00 minutes would do justice. When I'm finished with it I can let someone use my logic project and samples if they want want to do an extension to it.

...gotta go to class I'm late

I am redoing what I have done so far in the remix, so far I have the first minute. I don't like to make songs needlessly long, so I'm thinking that 3:30 to 4:00 minutes would do justice.

If you make it that short, it will be almost completely useless to a DJ. If you are talking about a progressive tune, you need to have at least 1 min before and after the main part of your song is in so that you have time to do a nice, smooth mix. 3:30 would mean that the song might have only between 1:30-2:30 min of non-mixed playtime. That's not much at all.

An average mix set might have between 10-14 tracks in it. That means each track is getting about 6-4.5 min of play time on average. Part of that time is taken up for mixing. That leaves you with maybe 3-5 min of time where the track in question is the only one playing and that's pusing it. Realistically, it's actually 2.5-4.5 minutes.

So... you'll need more than time you are talking about. It's not needlessly long, it's essential time if you expect a DJ to play it out. 5 min is the shortest I would ever consider making a track.

I usually won't consider a track unless it is at least 5 minutes long. I prefer a nice 7 minute track. Gives me plenty of time to enjoy it.

Haven't been around much this week. In the beginning I asked what will be done to the re-mixes. There was no answer or discussion about someone submitting something to a label. Second, there were no clear instructions on how and where to place the mix. I think this thing was poorly instructed and the passing of information was bad. Anyway, file removed from mediafire.

I appologize. This project snowballed into something bigger than I ever thought. I am new at this whole thing. I have no experience putting a remix project together.

I have been djing the past 25 years and of recently been doing music production. I produced Creator a few years ago and donated the track to Deep Life Records and they donated any download profits to Gospel For Asia.

I always wanted to see what others could do with the track especially since I am a novice producer of sorts.  I recently contacted several remixers and asked them if they would do a remix. I was amazed at the positive response. The Lord has brought several remixers to this project and a couple that have major name recognition in the world!

I would like to donate ALL proceeds to Central Christian India Mission. The next step is to see if this could get picked up. I hope the remixes help anyone's career take off and spike.

Moreso, we would like to get Christian Dj's and remixers to bless the world and lift them up with joy, peace, love and happiness through music.  Ultimately, that many might receive Jesus as Savior and Lord. We want to use what talents He has given us to lift the name of Jesus.

Again my sincerest appologies and if anyone would like to assist in organizing this project and helping me, I humbly accept that.

It has some sort of an electro feel to it.
bpm @ 125

Of the remixes posted here, this one so far seems to pay the most respect to the original. The others venture too far from the original's template, fail to bring a current sound and well... don't do a thing for me.

Thanks for sharing. I'm curious, what's the thing in the original track that did do it for you?

Thanks for all the remixes!
I just got off the phone with AJ Mora and he is buzzing with ideas.
His remix may take a little longer to get but it will be well worth it!
Hence we may extend the deadline some.

Sad I've been in a really long producing dry spell and I haven't worked on it much for like a month  Cry. I would probably finish it up this weekend if I didn't have a take home exam for my intermediate quantum mechanics II class (it's 10 times scarier than it sounds).

...But when I was working on it I put so much effort into it that it would be a shame not to finish (current length ~~2mins). So don't give up on my mix, but also please be understanding if it's not done by the deadline.

I still see a lot that I could do to it.  Wink

I just now tried to dl the parts off the earlier link but unfortunately, it's broken now. I was wondering if somebody could be gracious and give me the parts? Thanks

I am in no rush but I can only extend the deadline til April 21
AJ is busy with the upcoming preparations for WMC and SuDance and he will need some time.
Several people are needing some extra time.
So far some great remixes. I will be posting some of them soon on mypace.com/jackfactory
for you to review.
