Yeah, what next? Bumble-bee as a Camaro? Oh wait. :\

Yeah, that's a little different, in that case volkswagen WOULDN'T LET THEM make him a bug again.

What were they supposed to do, not have him in the movie?

Hmm. According to this Bay made the decision so not to draw comparisons to Herbie The Love Bug.

Quote from: Wikipedia
[...]
Optimus's scout Bumblebee transforms into a 1976 Chevrolet Camaro, and upgrades into the 2009 model. Bay rejected the G1 form of the Volkswagen Beetle, as it reminded him of Herbie the Love Bug. Hasbro did not mind as long as the car remained yellow. The Camaro was chosen for its friendly appearance.

That's interesting, maybe I'm wrong!

I had read that before the movie even came into being, volkswagen would not allow the toys to continue being made in a VW likeness because they did not want to associate their vehicles with war-themed media.

Obviously if they felt that way about the toys, they weren't going to allow the movie to use it either.  I'll see if I can find a good source for that.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I remember being 6 years old watching Knight Rider on TV, with a bowl of Cocoa Puffs in my lap, and a smile on my face.

I also will not be watching this.

Knight Rider 08=POOH.
